My DF and I went to see X-MEN today and I swear this was the rudest group of movie goers I had ever seen!

1st two different groups of people in different rows insisted on talking the enitre movie.

2nd one of the women sitting next to them got so "mad" about their loud talking that she wanted to move on the other side of us "because of their d$mn loud mouths" (her words to us) Then after she decides to fuss about THEIR rudness she has the nerve to open her very well lit cell phone and start texting a friend

3rd- One of the members of the loud party got a cell phone call and Actually answered it and spoke for about 5 minutes!

4th- two different couples brought their infants who cried multiple times throughout the movie

And last but not least, a pile of people wanted to hurry out thinking the movie was over, not realizing that there was a long conlusion sequence, because they wanted to see the rest they STOPPED right in FRONT of the people in the front row blocking their view. They should have marched their tails back to their seats until it was over.

I could not believe there were this many inconsiderate people :sad2:

And the movie theaters wonder why business is so bad! ;)

And is exactly why we wait until it comes out on DVD.

Sorry you had to deal with all of that.

That's why we rarely (2x a year maybe) go see a movie. This year, we've seen 2 and they were both ones that our church rented a theater to see together. Amazingly, NONE of those people talked, answered their cell phone, or wandered aimlessly around the theater ;)

Last time we saw something on our own, I got up twice to find someone because of disruptive people. It's just not worth the frustration anymore. We just wait for Netflix or hit a really nice theater =)

Yep, the industry keeps wondering why movie sales are getting lower...people have the ability to buy nice home theater setups, without all of the noise and distraction of stupid people runing it for them, plus DVD's are out so quickly after the movie comes out, it's not a big deal to wait, and Netflix is also an awesome service :thumbsup2

How funny, we went to see the same movie (X-men) last week and omg, there was a group of teens making out, talking and farting, laughing out loud. Talking dirty to each other,it was just too much.

I got up and told them to get the heck out of there, they ignored me, then I got really mad, went outside and found the police officers just right there talking and they went and got the kids, they didn't even had a ticket for the movie.

The CS gave us 6 free tickets for any movie any time, so we went to see cars last friday, but it was very annoying.

I really hate it when that happens. Since frog's accident we don't go to the movies much (he gets bad headaches watching movies in the dark.) We wait till they come out on DVD. No talking no one sitting in front of you blocking your view (I'm short so it is a problem for me lol) and you can pause it when you want more popcorn or soda, or need the restroom. Hey can't beat that with a stick!!

Yep, it's obnoxious. We started going to the first matinee, which here starts between 10-11 am, to avoid the crowds and found that not only are there fewer people, but the ones there are usually very polite. :thumbsup2

Azgal81- You have a drive in near you? I MISS our drive in-Cinema City in Yorktown and it also had a regular movie theater. Then the mall came and put a movie theather in there, the drive in went out of business and stood there for years- I even have a napkin holder and nice glass condiment cups after it was deserted-I did it, I trespassed but all the speaker things were gone by the time I got there. Then it was torn down and the lot stood empty for years and now there is a Walmart there and it just freaks me out, so I dont go to that one. Then the mall closed it' s theater when a big theater was built near by, kharma.

We never go to the movies. I wait for them to come out on DVD. It is alot cheaper than the price they want for a movie. Then with all the rude people out there, I am just happy to be home!

We just watched Big MaMa house 1 & 2... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You listed all the reasons why I now hate going to the movies. I only go once or twice a year now.

We went to the DRIVE-IN friday night and saw THE WILD , CARS and X-MEN III

Talk about getting your $8.00 worth .

DD & I had already seen Wild but DW enjoyed it The other 2 were great.

We also try not to go to anything on release weekend because that seems to bring out all the rude people.
I am going to Nacho Libre for a prescreening on Tuesday night .But who can argue with FREE.

Wow....that is really rude!!! :furious:

It amazes me how some people can act like this, and not care that they are disturbing other people - how sad!!!! :sad2: :guilty:

I've gotten around this by going to a very new theater in midtown that very few people know about at the ... get this .. 10AM SHOW! No one even knows it exists! Michael and I go when it's quiet and the louder types are still asleep on the weekend. We mostly have the entire theatre to ourselves! :thumbsup2

That's the weird thing, it was a matinee, the 2 pm showing. I just don't get it :confused3

I saw X-men last weekend and The Breakup this weekend. At both movies I saw people with infants and little kids (under 5). It just amazes me. :sad2:

At the breakup there was a couple siting right next to me. The boyfriend was scratching his girlfriends back for 10 minutes! I wouldn't have minded if it was just for a little bit, but the constant sound of rubbing was very annoying!

I agree it's so annoying. My DH, DD13 and I went to see American Haunting ( :scared1: ) last Friday night. When I saw that it was rated PG-13, I thought, oh, no, teenagers! Sure enough, they were everywhere, loud obnoxious teens who had nothing better to do than go to the movies. When my DH said something to the boys behind us, they got very smart with him. I looked at my DD13 and said, you had better never talk to an adult that way.

After the movie started and it didn't stop, we too went to get security and they threw 4 of them out of the movies and then after that, the rest got scared they would go and they shut up. Yeah for security!! :thumbsup2

We went to see Cars last night at the 5:30 showing.

I know it is an animated film and expected there to be a ton of families. However, if your child has been crying continuously for more than 1 minute, please remove yourself, and your child, from the theatre. And I don't mean, get up from your seat and walk back by the door. We can still hear your screaming child. I almost went to get security, but decided to give them a break.

In addition, I spent the entire last 1/2 of the show with the small child behind me sitting on dad's lap. She was either kicking my seat, or pushing on it with her feet.

Next time, we'll go to the later show, or the first show of the afternoon.
