I need a good idea for a movie that will be of interest to girls between 7-10 years old. We've already watched the Hannah Montana movie.

Is Enchanted too young for them? There may be a few 11 year olds.

Any recommendations?

My daughter is 10.
We saw Percy Jackson this week, she loved it.
Alvin and the Chipmunks was a hit with her.
Aliens in the Attic my kids LOVED.
She still likes Enchanted and all the Disney movies.
The Parent Trap(new one) is a favorite, as are the Harry Potters.

The Babysitter Club movie
I don't think Enchanted would be to young for them
Plant 51
UP
Cloud with a Chance of Meatballs

I was also going to suggest Parent Trap-either of them. DD and her friends also liked the original "Your's, Mine and Our's" at that age-just something none of them have probably seen before.

All 3 of my kids (13, 10, and 3) loved Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. (I did too!).

The Goonies!!!!! I loved it when I was younger, and it's one of my DD's favorite movies.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I had never thought of Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs.

I like the idea of The Parent Trap also. When you say "new one", do you mean the version with Lindsay Lohan? My kids (20, 17 & 17) will still sit down & watch that when it comes on TV (as will I!!!).........or is there even a newer one out?

I don't think enchanted is too young for them. i also recommend any disney movie, pokemon, digimon, kiki's delivery service, my neighbor totoro, and jimmy neutron.

The Princess Diaries 1 &2 are FABULOUS & then the Princess Protection Program is cute too.
Cloudy with chance of meatballs was good

I'd recommend "The Sandlot." Yes, some would say it's a "boy" movie, but they've probably not seen it and it's one of the best movies for that age range ever ever ever.

Also:
Willie Wonka
Wizard of Oz
The Music Man
Matilda

That's the one I mean-I'm getting old when I think something from the 90s is new. LOL
Also Cheaper By the Dozen with Steve Martin is a fun one-my kids like 1 and 2.

I second the Princess Diaries suggestions. I also don't think they would be too young for Enchanted.

Labyrinth is my girls favorite movie! They are 8 and 11:) They also like The Dark Crystal and Goonies. The Pacifier is another one they like alot.

No, that's the "new one". The "old one" starred Haley Mills as the twins. - The girls might even have fun watching both to kind of compare them.

P.S. - If they get really into it, there was also a sequel to the "old one" involving the daughter of one of the twins and her friend trying to get their parents together. Mills played the twins again as adults. It was cute.

My DD is 9.

Movies she watches over and over....

I Carly season ?
Parent Trap
Cheaper by the Dozen
The Pacifier
Garfield Movie
Princess diaries 1 and 2
Princess protection
NEW-- StarStruck

Princess Bride -
We showed it at DD's slumber party when she was 9
Due to the age differences between our kids we have a good selection of older movies that we now watch with DD but many of them can be rented.

The Goonies
The Navigator
E.T.
Short Circuit
Radio
October Sky
Buck Rogers
My DD recently watched all 5 Rocky Episodes :lmao: and currently records every MacGyver episode she can get her hands on.

The Game Plan
Freaky Friday
Agent Codie Banks
Cats and Dogs
Beverly Hills Chihauhau

I don't think Enchanted is too young for them at all.

I also second many of the ones mentioned. Freaky Friday, the Parent Trap, Princess Diaries, The Game Plan.

We also love Ella Enchanted.

There are 2 sequals...one took place while 1 twin was in California and married and her sister was single and had a daughter who went to summer school with the Savanna Smiles girl.

The follow up--the Cali twin was divorced--and for some reason I am remembering her in Hawaii and getting hooked up there. Triplets were on there as well and were causing all the shenanigans. (one of the triplets played Tori on Saved by the Bell.)
