Has your love of Disney ever reached the point that you occasionally have serious thoughts of moving to Orlando to work at Disney World (despite the low pay)?

I plan to move south in 3+ years because I do not enjoy Indiana winters. Not even one single bit.

Originally I considered Tennessee but they still get some snow. Then I decided on Florida. Pretty low odds of snow there and I have family near Tampa.

As for employment, I do hope to work for Disney. I want to work in the kennels. I love dogs. I have 5. I used to work for a groomer, then a vet and now I volunteer with a greyhound rescue group. I figure the pay will be min. wage which is what I would get up here in the same type position.

The way I see it, I may as well get paid to do what I love - be around dogs - in a place I love.

All the time ... and then I read about the low pay, unfriendly hours, rude guests, hot, humid weather, snakes , etc. and I snap out of it quickly ... I'll just stick to my 1 - 2 visits per year instead ...

I already did. I moved to Florida six years ago. I live five minutes from WDW property. I've never regretted a minute of my decision.

My daughter is 10 and I'm already hinting to her that she should work there when she gets older. I, of course, would have to move there too to make sure she doesn't get homesick.

Every single time we go to Disneyland, I *sigh* and think to myself how wonderful it would be to work in one of the shops on Main Street. It's my happy place

I HATE Indiana winters moving 30 mins from disney property by the end of the year.. but we are retiring

Not WDW, but Disneyland. I've been reading up on being a nurse there, and I've even subscribed to the Disney Jobs website so I know if any openings for hotel staff open up. My BFF already agreed to move down there with me (she works at a Cheesecake Factory and there's one she could transfer to right down the street from DL), if I ever land a job

I fully plan on moving back to Orlando and going back to work for WDW. I've never been happier than I was when I was living in Orlando.
