Food for thought: Why should Disneyland stay in Anaheim?

O/C tax rate is soon to be 8.75%
Workers comp. insurance is amongst the highest in the country.
Strict environmental legislation.
Lack of room for expansion.
Income and property tax are amongst the highest in the country.
In general it is said to cost about 30% more to run a business in CA.

Now obviously we have great weather here, and this is the original park and all but why should Disney stay in CA?

For me, one of the points you raised there is actually a plus - the lack of space.

DLR may be a small park, but that gives it an awful lot of charm in my opinion and I wouldn't want it any other way.

The location is a fairly easy one to get to from an international point of view and having so many off-site hotels close by means that you can easily manage it without a car and for a sensible price as well.

The weather is also a nice plus - I went October last year and it was really warm - the same time of year in Disneyland Paris would yield totally different weather as it's normally cold and wet come October...

I can see your point with it being a "tight" park. But it also sucks that you can see all the urban sprawl around the park on some rides and in some areas of the park. I think this is why WDW was/is so huge...

i don't wish they'd move disneyland, but i DO wish there was a 3rd disney resort to go to in the U.S! we live in the pacific northwest and it would be AWESOME to have a disney option less than 2 days' drive away.

oh well...unless/until another disney resort is built, we'll just keep trekking down to SoCal!

Lakewood, posting something to "talk about" on DIS boards would be something like "anyone have ideas about which hotels" or "hey, where's your favorite place to eat". I joined this board to get advice, talk about the *postives* of Disneyland and the surrounding area, not to bring controversy and gossip, like the other houndreds of members here. We are here to support each other in our trip planning and get ideas on how we can make our trips better for our families, not to talk *smack* about the parks we would like to visit. If you understand my meaning? I am sorry that you feel the need to stir things up. Have a magical day!!!!
