Movado?

Hi All-

I'll be sailing on the Western in less than 6 weeks (holy cow!!!!). I am in the market for a Movado watch. Does anyone know if there are any Movado retailers in the Western ports? I know exactly which watch I am looking for, and am very familiar with the prices, so I just need to know where to go to see if I can do better down there!

Erin, according to the Movado website the only stores outside the US are in Nassau and Honduras. But that doesn't mean you won't find a dealer elsewhere, of course. I would say probably somewhere on Grand Cayman.

I'd recommend attending the Shopping in Paradise seminar...usually they have one for watches and gemstones. The onboard shopping guide is usually very helpful.

I have been eyeing a new Movado for a few weeks. Have you found a good place on the web to buy one? I found a place on EBay, but have not decided to buy one yet.

I haven't found a place to buy one on the web, but have found the one I want at local retailers, BJ's being one of them, for $200 less than Movado sells the same watch!!! The problem with buying a Movado from someone other than Movado is that you won't get the lifetime guarantee. I think that I can live with the lack of guarantee for a couple of hundred $$ extra!!!

TheWog - thanks! I saw on the Little Switzerland website that they have Movado's for sale. I fear for the safety of my bank account between the watch and the crystal...

I went on a WESTERN 2 yrs ago and Cozumel was loaded with them... I fell in love with them right there. Also, in Grand Caymen The shopping center in the SQUARE had some very elite jewlery stores as well.

According to Movado's website they only offer a 2 year warranty on movement & 5 year on finish. For a lifetime warranty I would consider the extra $200....
