How did they ever find the OJ jury for this trial? Listening to the roll call of what the jury found him responsible for and they still gave him life. Really, I just don't get it.

Now we can wait for the nut cases to hijack a plane or blow up a embassy somewhere demanding for him to be released.

frankly, I think he got exactly what he deserved. if he'd gottent he death penalty he would have been a martyr for the cause, a "hero" in his own eyes and that of the other members of Al Queada.

giving him life makes him just another petty criminal in a jail cell. one who'll be forgotten after a while -- does anyone remember the names of the terrrorists who were convicted in the 1993 Trade Center bombing?

I agree with you. Let him rot in prison for many many years. A martyr's death is wau to good for him.

Good. I agree too. He wanted death, to be a martyr. Let's not give it to him.

OP, believe it or not, death is too good for him. I breathed a sigh of relief when I heard the verdict. Even some of the lawyers and family members were saying last week that giving him death would make him more important than he actually was.

I am happy that he got life in prison. They say he will have minimal human contact. Let him rot in there! I am sure they can't put him even near the general population - someone will kill him in there!

Normally I like to fry people when theyre bad.... Im very pro death penalty.

HOWEVER - this guy wanted to die. Too easy for him. He'd be considered a hero - forget that....

I hope he makes lots of "friends" (named Bubba)

I'm glad he got life...I did not want to see his wish fulfilled to be a martyr.

Now, let's see what happens to him when he gets to prison. Instead of finding his 40 virgins (or however many virgins these nuts are promised), maybe HE'S gonna be somebody's virgin!!

Let him rot in a jail with the very people he despises the most - Americans.

I agree with the other posters: life is what he deserves. Death would make him proud- he said so himself. No- let him rot with no freedom and a failed mission: America is still up and running!!

As others have said, he would have been a martyr. His death would have been used against us to inflame more resistence. I am not anti-death penalty, but in this case I think life was a wise decision.

It would have been much worse if he had been killed. in THIS case they did the best thing available. With as much as I think he deserves to die for what he did and what he planned it would be much worse if he had been given the death penalty.

I don't care if he wanted to be a martyr or if he would have wanted to die - I really don't care what *he* would have wanted. I wanted him dead. He doesn't deserve to breath the same air that I do.

I agree with many previous posters.

In a several years, he'll be forgotten. If we executed him, he'd live forever. (Don't you love a paradox?)

I hope he's miserable in prison. I hope the other prisoners treat him like the piece of crap that he is. In this case, I'm glad he got life.

America is still up and running!!

And everyone is welcome to come on into the country--I hear it's pretty easy to get in via Mexico. Then, you can assist in planning terrorist acts, train to crash planes into our buildings, assist in killing thousands, and THEN--when you're caught--we'll turn around and support you for the rest of your life. We'll even take care to make sure you're not killed or hurt while in prison. That would be cruel and unusual, after all.

The U.S. What a country.

Personally, I think if this clown wanted to die, we should have done all we could to assist him in meeting his maker. Instead, we've provided him a pretty cushy life.

The death penalty is too easy for him. I will suffer MUCH more in prison then he would being put to death. As soon as the other prisoners find out who he his, he will get the crap beat out of him on a regular basis, all the Bubba's in prison will want to "love" him and he will probably end up being beat to death in a shower somewhere and the guards aren't going to rush to his defense. I think this is a much better sentence for this creep.

I believe you will find that none of the above will happen. We'll make sure he's kept safe and sound. Can't have anyone claiming "cruel and unusual punishment." You can be sure that there will be SOME group somewhere making sure his "rights" aren't violated.

This will greatly reduce the number of appeals. In fact, he may have no options at this point.

I think they did the right thing even though, if it weren't for the martyr status he was after and his supporters would have used against us, I would have wanted the death penalty.

Hey, they managed to get a hold of Jeffrey Dahmer.

That is the EXACT case I was thinking about. I really doubt ANYONE in prison is going to be looking out for Moussaoui nor will anyone care about cruel and unusual punishment. The other prisoners do a good job "taking care" of child molesters and other such criminals in jail that this guy won't last long there. I give it a year, maybe, and they will find him on the floor of a shower dead.
