Mousekeeping

And yet enough people are paying it that they don't feel like they need to reduce the price.

I mean factual in the sense that they feel enough people are paying it.... but the people that built the titanic also thought it would never sink so yeah unless Disney opens up its books completely there would be no way to tell for certain.

They don't empty the trash for multiple days?

I just had a night in one of the resorts; the trash can was miniscule and didn't even have a bag for easy removal. If I stayed longer it would've just sat there?

I'm flabbergasted.

*Closes tab where I was looking for a longer stay* 😒
We had ordered scented garbage bags for our room on our recent stay. My husband kept having to call for removal. But at least we had the bags neatly tied to go.

The main problem Disney hotels have with their housekeeping since the pandemic is trying to make all the housekeepers return to work and since they haven't called all their housekeepers back to work yet they are training new staff and it makes getting hotel rooms clean and ready a not so easy task and so they keep training new housekeepers to get them started into their job easily. But I do agree that Disney should give guests a gift card or credits for dining as an apology along with a sign on each bed that says "DUE TO CHANGES WE WILL NO LONGER BE DOING FULL HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE IF YOU WOULD LIKE MORE INFO CONTACT THE FRONT DESK" and it would work for guests a lot. Once my mom and I were staying at a Ramada and they only had one housekeeper to do housekeeping service for the entire hotel and only one housekeeping manager and it shocked us. I mean how can you have only one housekeeper and one housekeeping manager for an entire hotel? But I think what would work miracles for Disney is by having a Resort Housekeeper's Expo and by holding this expo Disney would hire new housekeepers and it would make a huge amount of money for Disney if it was to happen

What hotel, out of curiosity? We’re staying at Poly in April and for the price, I’m frustrated that we may need to nag them about basic housekeeping while there. 4 people in a standard room can get messy quickly, unfortunately!

Hey, sorry for delay, just got back. This was at Port Orleans French Quarter

We are at POFQ now. We got here on Saturday. Sunday they took our trash, Monday they took our trash and took the towels that where on the floor. Yesterday they took our trash. Today, we got back to our room and the one bed was made and we got all new towels. I bring my own sheets but my daughter used the ones Disney uses and it was her bed that was made. I was doing laundry today and took my sheets off to wash. I called to ask for a few more towels since they didn't leave enough. We put the laundry in and went to the food court. When we got back to the room not only did they bring the towels, someone made my bed with Disney sheets. So I had to strip that bed again. We declined housekeeping.

Edit to add on. Thursday we got trash, new towels, and new soap. Friday, nothing, Saturday trash was taken.

Unacceptable to not have housekeeping for the cost of staying at a Disney resort. I stayed at Universal Portofino in October and had full housekeeping daily.

Did none of you see that they are bringing back a more normal housekeeping schedule? Saw it here

It’s not on Disney’s housekeeping page and people at Poly this week have reported receiving service every other day (not every day like the blogs have mentioned; not clear what service the every other day service entails though). As long as the official Disney line doesn’t state full housekeeping is back and as long as people are still experiencing inconsistent levels of service, people will continue weighing in on it.

I just returned from the Yacht Club and it was not fully back. Was told by guest service it would be back and it wasn’t.

What was the housekeeping you did get? Did they make beds, etc?
I actually didn’t use their services. Since they didn’t come the first day, I winded up having to empty the trash myself. I decided to just grab a big garbage bag and put everything in there. I asked for towels and bath products and was given them each day. I only did this because my garbage was overflowing after one day.

I've always brought kitchen sized trash bags with me so I can bag up and close any food waste, drinks etc, because the small trash cans that most places have and I don't want to attract bugs. I guess I'll have to take that trash with me downstairs to set by a trash can on the way to the parks.

Full housekeeping will never be back at every single hotel. That is unless you pay for it.

This is accurate. See magical express....yeah we are gonna take this service away, raise your price and blame it on something arbitrary. But if you'd like to pay for it we can certainly make that happen!

Right. Along with fast passes, parking, magic bands.

Therein lies the problem! As long as people are feeding their addiction by paying whatever Disney is asking, nothing will change.

That is kind of dismissive. People go to WDW for a number of reasons and saying that they are "addicted" is a bit rude. One of the reasons that I go as a solo female traveler is because it is safe. I don't have to worry about driving or coming back when it is dark. WDW is a safe, easy, and convenient destination. There is so much to do there other then going to the parks. Do you tell people that go camping every year that they are "feeding their addiction"? Or those who go to the same beach, or go skiing every year? And while there are those people who want daily housekeeping, there are plenty out there that don't like the intrusion. Some of us don't want them to come in and mess with our stuff every day. So people that don't want housekeeping because of issues like anxiety, can't go to WDW without being name called as addicts? Come on man.
