Mousekeeping

if I stay at OKW as a cash paying guest and we have daily mousekeeping, can I leave a tip each day? When we stayed at AKL (not DVC) a few years back we left about $5 each day for the cleaning staff. Should we do the same at OKW and, if so, what would be an average amount of money to leave? Thanks

Housekeeping is not a tipped position (Per Disney and the State of Florida), so anything you may leave is at your discretion.

If you are on cash thru CRO, not DVC, you will have daily housekeeping. As Michael said, tips are optional

Thank you. I remember last time that we went (2013) I read lots of advice on different websites about tipping and etiquette around tipping, so I kind of assumed that tipping was voluntarily compulsory. Thanks for an updated bit of advice

Housekeeping is one of the lowest paid positions at Disney, and I appreciate their hard work so I always leave a tip. I think your suggestion of $5/day is appropriate. Of course, with DVC there isn't always housekeeping service so I think about how many days they were actually in my unit.

For the education and skills needed for the job, lots of other jobs at WDW are paid a lot less accordingly and are as hard or harder to do.
