Ok, since this is our first trip as a family I need some tips/advice...

Do the Villas at WL have mousekeeping? If so, how often? When do I tip and how much? I've seen some threads about mousekeeping envelopes and wonder if this is something I need to do. ?

ANy advice is appreicated!
thanks!

If you are staying in the villas, and paying cash (just like any other Disney resort) then you will get daily housekeeping. If you are renting points from a DVC owner, then you will get housekeeping about every 4 days or so. It's called Trash and Towel service. The second round of housekeeping (on the 8th day or so) is more complete.
Some people tip daily, others don't. The 'norm' is about $1 a day, per person in the room. You can leave your tip out on the vanity if you wish. Some people make up tip envelopes with cute pictures and such on them.
Is tipping neccessary? No. In fact, Disney will tell you that housekeeping is not a tipped position. But, many guests do, in fact, tip housekeeping.

If you are staying on DVC points, you will get your trash removed and towels replaced on day 4 if you are staying 7 nights or less. If you stay 8 nights or more, you will get a full cleaning on day 4 and your trash removed and towels replaced on day 8.

thanks to both of you! We're using cash (ie credit card! :lmao: ) so it should be daily then.

Is it customary to do mousekeeping envelopes then? I've heard so much about these enveis and also the staff (ie moving kids toys to cute places, towel animals etc) just wonder if the tips help that?

thanks so much!

I used to use the envelopes (there is/was a site where you could make them) but I don't anymore. I just take a piece of paper from the notepad in the room, write 'thanks so much' on it and put my tip in it and fold it in half and leave it on the bathroom vanity.
I have found those 'special' things that housekeepers do, happens a bit less at the DVC resorts. Because they are only in your room once or twice during your stay, it leaves less of an opportunity for them.

As far as what days, what happens...according to my Dec reservation, it says trash/towel service on day 4. So, you can plan on fresh towels and toiletries coming in on day 4.
