So back in 2009 when I last went to WDW we always tipped our Mousekeepers. Does anyone still do this? If so, how much is customary nowadays?

I also found cute Mousekeeping envelopes online last time but can't remember where. Anyone know a good site for this?

Thank you in advance!

I tend to tip housekeeping when/if I use them. I do not usually get service every day and decide day by day. I have no set amount that I tip, it is just based on what actual cash I have at the time versus how much cleaning they might actually need to do. I have never used the envelopes so I cannot help you there.

I usually tip around $1/person per day. $5/day, on average. A little more if we've had room service or my kids were real weasels.

For envelopes I've always just gotten those coin envelopes like banks use and had the kids decorate them with stickers! If I am feeling super-fancy I run a sheet of address labels with "Thank you, Mousekeeping!" in the Disney font and slap that on there, too.

Yes people still tip Mousekeeping.

How much is completely up to you.

Personally I do $2 per day unless I'm with someone that scatters their belongings throughout the room making it difficult to clean around them.

I just use the note pad given in the room and write Mousekeeping on it and set it with the money on the sink.

For cute envelops try Etsy.

And although some on DIS call them "Mousekeeping" they call themselves "housekeeping." You might want to label the envelopes accordingly.

We're a family of 4 and gave $5 each day. DON'T save it until the last day because you may not have the same person every day and then you'd only be tipping the person who cleaned on that day.

And we just left it tucked inside the little stand-up sign thing that has the housekeeper's name on it. And left it somewhere very visible.

I know a lot of people do the cute little envelopes, but I figure that's just one more thing they have to deal with. This way they just take the money, leave the sign, and they're done. I'm sure what they really appreciate is the tip each day--no matter how it's given!

I have never needed envelopes, I just leave the cash in the middle of the bed.

I have called them Mousekeeping even before I knew about the DIS. I usually have my grandchildren decorate and label an envelope for each day as part of our pre-Disney getting ready. We put $5 in each envelope and leave it near the sink each day.

I have my kids decorate envelopes before our trip with disney stickers, glitter, or whatever they decide they want to decorate with. We start the month before and decorate one envelope a day for each room (we have 2 resort rooms). Inside the envelope we put a little thank you note and a $5 bill. And we address the envelope to Mousekeeping. This is part of our countdown to our trip. My kids love it!

Thank you everyone, this has been super helpful. I found the envelopes I was talking about if anyone wants to use them. You just print them out and they have markings to show how to fold them. It's at: www.themouseforless.com
This is the site I've used for my previous trips. I think it's a cute way to add some magic to the housekeeper's day :)

In no way do I mean any negativity but just an FYI you should really tip daily if you are going to tip since its likely not the same Mousekeeper every day.

I know, if I'm at a hotel I will look out to see if is the same person each day or if they switch and then I adjust accordingly

It seems to be pretty widely used even off of the forums- I've seen it on all of the big Disney sites and many non-Disney-specific travel sites -so I bet they recognize the term! ;)

Can you give a more specific link? I looked all over that site and could not find them.

You can also print them directly onto plain white ( or colored ) envelopes. They are so adorable ! We use them every trip.
