Mousekeeping Tip: When?

When do you leave your Mousekeeping Tip? Anyone leave a little the first day and then more at the end? How about a little every day? or do you wait until the very last day?

I decorate tip envelopes and leave $5 daily.

We tipped each day, 1 dollar per person, so $3/day for our family.

We tipped by the day because, sometimes the mousekeeper might change during the week. This way the mousekeeper of any given day gets their tip.

We just returned this weekend, and we left $1/day per person in the room each day. She was so wonderful, she made towel creations for the kids to return to every day & we left her $10 on the final day.

we decorated envelopes and left 1$ for each person then I added a dollar cause Im a sucker! LOL so we left 5 dollars each day. The mousekeepers can change on a daily basis and you want to make sure that each mousekeeper get her share! Imagine the lady/man who cleans on the last day and get 50 bucks for your ten day trip

When staying in hotels, we generally tip ($1.00/day) and tip everyday...the maids in most hotels are on a rotational schedule...so if you only tip the last day, the maid who serviced your room for you stay may not have received a tip, and the person who is cleaning for the next guest will receive it all.

I stayed for 3 nights last weekend and we left 20 bucks at the end, with a little note saying "thanks Mousekeeping"

CUTE idea on decorating the mousekeeping envies! And thanks for the tips on tipping, too, lol! We left our whole tip at the end of the stay last time. Didn't occur to me that it might be different people.

We tip $1/day per person...since it's just DH and I we tip $2 each day....at the end of our last trip, we left a $10 tip....they had made us towel animals....and did a great job!

We tip Mousekeeping every day. It's me, grandma, and DS. We leave $5 a day. On our very first trip, we had a very creative, very fun Mousekeeper. She ALWAYS did something fun with DS's slippers, stuffed animals, etc. That was the only trip we've taken where Mousekeeping did anything "extra." We've kinda been disappointed since--she SPOILED us!! But I know that they have lots of rooms to take care of and may not have the time or energy to do extras. I still think they deserve a tip though--they work hard and I'm sure they don't get paid THAT well!!!
