Sorry, I know this has been asked & answered time & time again. I can't find it now.
When staying on dvc points how do you all tip mousekeeping.
We just returned from a 5 night stay, therefor only got trash & towel other than the initial cleaning & after we left. Just curious how others tip. I vacuumed before leaving, loaded the dishwasher wiped down counters & cleaned out the refrig. (other than unopened items which I left a note to them to feel free to make use of.).

so tell me how would all of you have tipped?

Thanks,
Dee

I leave a couple of dollars per day for the length of my stay. Housekeeping is still cleaning the room before you check-in, so I feel that warrants a tip from me.

Disney does not consider it a tipped position, and neither do we.

There was a huge thread about this last year, but I am too lazy to search for it now. The synopsis:

Some folks, since Mousekeeping is NOT considered a tipped position, don't tip.

Other folks, tip anyway, feeling it's just a few more bucks to them, but it might make a difference to someone in a minimum wage, not-too-glamorous job. http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZZzebXXX

I fall into the second category. I generally leave $2/night.

Thank you all for your experienced opinions.

I'm in that second category also. Here's what I do....
trash and towel days - studio $3-5 , 1 - 2 bedroom $5-10
full cleaning - studio - $10- , 1 - 2 bedroom $10 - 20
I tip because they're doing a service, even if it's a non-tipped position. A few bucks won't kill me and it'll make them smile :flower:

That has been our practice as well, based on the same thoughts.
We have meet some of the nicest people by doing so too! :)

If we call housekeeping with a request to bring something to the room, we tip. (Even if it's because something was missing that should have been there when we arrived).

We don't tip for Trash & Towel service.

We haven't yet had a stay long enough to qualify for a full housekeeping service during our stay. If we ever do, I'd tip for that - $10 -$20, depending on the size of the unit.

We usually leave $10 -$20 at the end of our stay with a thank you note to the housekeeper. The amount depends on the size of the accomodations. We do leave the room in very good condition so that housekeeping has nothing above and beyond to do because of us.

Best wishes-
