mousekeeping question

We rented points at VWL in August and I know that mousekeeping does not come everyday. Can you pay extra for them to come everyday? What is their usual schedule of cleaning the rooms?

If you are staying 7 nights or less, you will get a trash & towel service on day 4 (day 1 is your check-in day). They basically replace the towels & soaps and take out the trash. If you want trash & towel everyday, it's $10 per day requested. If you want a full cleaning, it's $25 for a studio, $30 for a 1 bedroom, $40 for a 2 bedroom per day requested. If you are staying 8 or more nights, you will get a full cleaning on day 4 and a trash & towel on day 8.

In order to get extra full cleaning days, is it all or nothing? In other words if I am staying on points for 5 nights can I order a full cleaning for day 3 only @$40. (2 bedroom) or do I have to pay $40. x 5 for the entire vacation.
Also, is this something I can request at check in or do arrangements have to be made prior to arrival?

You can schedule extra cleanings for any single days that you wish. It must be scheduled at check-in...you can't do it in advance.

Note that you can also request variances from the normal scheduled days if you wish. In other words, if you want to move the Trash & Towel service from Day 4 to Day 3, this request can be accommodated at check-in at no extra charge.

I just wanted to add that we kind of like the fact that housekeeping isn't coming in all the time. There are plenty of towels, and we usually hang them at home, so we do that on vacation too. It's no big deal to pull the bed covers up and make the bed...we do that at home. Of course, it's also no big deal if you leave the bed unmade, it that's the way you do at home too. We find the T&T and full cleaning once each trip to be more than enough for us. The only thing I wish is that they would leave more than 1 kitchen towel! We usually end up using one of the hand towels from the master bath as an extra kitchen towel.

I'll bet if you ask mousekeeping in a very nice way for an extra kitchen towel they would probably give you one~

Yep, we always do ask for an additional kitchen towel and pot holders too, since those are not standard equipment anymore. I often just leave a note for trash and towel day to get the extra kitchen towel too.
