We will be renting a studio at the BWV for the first time and traveling with a semi potty trained 2 year old. In your opinion, do you think it's worth purchasing the extra mouse keeping daily?

We've never found it necessary, but then again we don't travel with a toddler.

It wouldn't be for me. I actually like not having housekeeping in the room every day. With a little one, it would be easier not to have to schedule your day around a housekeeping schedule - doesn't it usually seem like they want to service your room when you want to be there, LOL?

We just make the bed when we get up and keep the room picked up as needed. Takes just a few minutes.

We don't wash our towels every day at home, so don't mind hanging them up and using them again the next day. If you are staying more than 3 nights, you will get fresh towels on Day 4 of your stay - Check-in day counts as Day 1. They also empty your trash that day. With a little one, you may want to empty your trash more often. There are trash rooms on every floor for that.

Enjoy your stay!

Are you concerned about nighttime "accidents"? You may want to bring a plastic sheet. You can request it as you need it, you don't have to buy it everyday. As Carol said, there are trash rooms on every floor. At BWV, they are about half way down the hall in both wings.

That was our original thought as well, but after we tried it without the daily service, we found we really like not having someone come in

Add us too. We also thought it would be an issue but quickly saw we liked not having daily housekeeping. Though we do stay for 14 day trips so we do get it a few times during our stays but it's part of the stay and not extra

Does the "rental guest daily full cleaning" apply to those who are renting points from a third party?

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

That is poorly worded. If your reservation is made with points, it is a member stay with regards to housekeeping no matter who is staying in the room. All Disney knows is that the reservation was made by a member with points, they don't know if you rented through a third party. If you book through Disney as a non-member stay, you get daily full cleaning included in the rate.

We don't like housekeeping no matter where we are. I don't like someone in the room & I don't like having to worry about when the housekeeper will be in the room. But then again we had someone try and steal a laptop out of our room at the Poly. And IMO one of the worst feelings is having the toddler just about to finally finally fall asleep, only to have a housekeeper ignore the do not disturb and knock on the door.

One of the many reasons I love DVC is not having housekeeping. Ive gotten so used to it that I put the do not disturb sign out while in regular hotel rooms. I treat my DVC room like my home and enjoy taking care of it by myself.

I love housekeeping service and am the type to want fresh towels and my bed made every day on vacation. I thought it would be an issue for me but it never has been. You don't even miss it.

And we had a little one who had a slight accident at GF last month and there was no issue asking housekeeping to come and change the bed linens ( no one ever even mentioned a charge- non-issue)

If a little one has an accident they will change sheets with no problem. :) We've been through it several times through the years! I just strip the bed to make their job a little easier and of course tip when they're done.

I agree with most of the posters. Dh and I have really come to love the no housekeeping to the extent that we always put the 'do not disturb' sign out every day. We pick up after ourselves, leave our laptops out, re-use towels, empty our own trash on a regular basis. We enjoy having the room be 'our room' with no interruption.

For longer stays we plan for the full housekeeping by putting our laptops away, etc. If at anytime during our stay we find a need for extra towels, etc. we just call. That rarely happens because we normally stay in one bedrooms and just throw a load of towels in the washer occasionally.

Little one had an accident and DH called for a linen change. It took all day and when the person showed up they handed DH a stack of sheets and said if they did the change we would be charged for a full clean because that was policy. DH said no problem we could change them but what should we do with the soiled sheets. He was told to wash and fold them. It was pretty incredible based on our previous experience!

Other than that we have had zero issues not having housekeeping.
