I was calculating the actual cost of staying in a non-dvc resort (poly, GF, AKL, etc) and I found out that is actually cheaper to get them on points than to paying a discounted rate (I live in FL and are an AP holder).
I was wondering if the rules of DVC mousekeeping apply when staying at a non-dvc hotel with points.

Anyone knows?

I'm not sure I understand your question. First of all, I think using points for a stay in a non-DVC Disney resort is an expensive use of points. If you value your points with maintenance fees etc, I guess I don't see how it is cheaper than a discounted rate.

The housekeeping part of your question I can answer. At non-DVC Disney resorts, you get daily maid service.

I'll tell you how:
Staying at GF during value season in a standard room will cost me, rack rate $349 + 11.5%tax = $389/night. Let's say I stay 5 nights (sun-fri) = $1945.
Now, let's say I use a discount code for FL resident or AP holder (if available),
Usually will be about $50 off the rack rate or ($299 + 11.5%tax)*5 = $1667.
Now, If use my points, which cost me around $6 (actually is less, but let's use this number to keep it simple), I will need 39*5 points = 195*$6= $1170

So, if my math is correct, staying on points is definetely cheaper than paying rack rates.

Thank you for your answer on mousekeeping. That is exactly what I needed to know.

Okay, I see how you are figuring it. For me, it is too great a trade off, but I see your point.

You will get the usual daily housekeeping service when you stay at the GF on your points. You will be treated the same way as any other GF guest.

AFAIK, the only difference to paying cash or staying on points (at the WDW non-DVC resorts) is that there is no extra charge for more than 2 adults in the room. Of course, you still can't exceed the maximum occupancy for the room.

Best wishes-
