I hear that Mousefest will be going on during part of my Late Nov. Early Dec., 2005 trip and I'm just wondering that the "hay" it is. :confused3

I looked at Deb's site and was only able to sorta figure out that it's some sort of meet and activities thing for people in the Disney Travel Biz? Is there anything that I should be aware of? Like crazy crowds or fun activites that I too can take part in?

Thanks! :teeth:

It's not for people in the travel business, it's for anyone who wants to attend. They have activities and meets they plan along with what they call the Mega Mouse Meet where everyone comes together at once. Last year's MMM was in one of the Dolphin's meeting rooms. Several other internet communities have their annual meets at the same time as well, most notable RADP and Passporter.

It's still a little early for complete schedules to be up yet but you can get some background on MF at:

http://allearsnet.com/btp/mousefest.htm
http://www.mousefest.org/

And if you go to http://www.radp.org/radp9/radp9.htm you can view last years schedule of their meets which should be pretty close with what you can expect from this year. I can't remember the Passporter meets page but someone will probably know it.

There really is a lot of things to do during these times. If you're any kind of an extrovert, you could be busy from morning until late night most days.

I went to my first Mousefest last year, and even ran an event. I can't tell you what a GREAT time I had! The people I met were wonderful, and I had an incredible time at all the meets! I'll be back this year, with another meet planned, too!

You cna read my trip report with pictures here: http://www.disneyworldtrivia.com/articleViewer.php?aid=53

Hope to see you there!!!!

Just the opposite! The parks are empty! The crowds diminish quite a bit that week, and that's partially why that time of year is chosen! No line anywhere! Great weather! The decorations! MVMCP! OOOhhh! Now I can't wait!!!

:)

I'm so happy...I've missed MouseFest for the past two years by a few days. This year I'll actually be able to go!!! Solo trip and I'm looking forward to doing exactly what I want to do for a change!!! See you there!

Hooray!! I'm so pleased to hear that the crowds are light and the weather is great! So AKQJ10, how warm/cold will it be? Will I be able to wear shorts? I'm a NYer so I would say that 70 degrees is warm enough for shorts for me. But if the mornings are colder than that, I'll have to be wearing pants. Geesh, it's 6 months away and I'm already thinking of what to pack

I was there for mousefest last year too and I can tell you it got really cold at night! We went on an Illuminations Cruise with the mousefest gang and it was freezing! We had pants, coats, gloves, blankets, etc. The day I left to go home, it was 30 degrees in Orlando when I left for the airport. Of course, it was 18 degrees at home in Virginia Beach!

The days were warmer, some days we could wear shorts, but others we wore jeans.

Your best bet is to pack for both warm and cold. Definitely pack at least a sweatshirt and gloves for the evenings.

As far as the crowds, most of the rides were walk ons!

You can also take enjoy all the Christmas decorations and festivities!!!

Stacy,

Oh yeah - you're going to LOVE how short the waits are everywhere! (ah, the joys of just walking right on to ToT then onto RnR. "Fastpass? We don't need no stinkin' Fastpass!" hehehe)

As for the weather, I agree that you should prepare for moderate days, but the nights can get quite chilly. Never thought I'd see the little kiosks throughout the MK selling wool hats and mittens, but they were during MVMCP last Year! And believe me, you needed them!

For a chart of the average temperatures throughout the year, go to http://www.disneyworldtrivia.com/weather.php.

Hope to meet you at MouseFest 2005!!

Well... double pack, I shall. I'm a girl and I can pack clothes like nobody's business! At least there will be no one to complain to me about how much I'm packing :goodvibes

With all of this info, I've signed up for the yahoo group for Mousefest in the hopes that I'll get some sort of schedule of activities. I'm not really sure if I will participate much (since I'm really excited about this solo thing), but at least I'll know what's going on, right? Is there another way to be alerted to this information? I will, of course, be watching these boards too. Man, it's not even June and I'm SO excited already. :3dglasses
