Mousefest and Pop Warner Overlap in Dec?

Does any know if the Pop Warner overflow goes to POFQ. I thought I read that, I have called Disney 3 times and asked and they don't know. :wave2:

I also found out from one of Len Testa's posts that the Performance Racing Industries trade show is held Dec 1-3. 45,000 attendees.
Wow! we are booked into OKW nov 27-dec 1/ POFQ dec 2 & 3-- :sunny:
We always request not to be by pools or foodcourts due to the traffic/noise problems Jammed crowds & looong lines do not appeal. We love the Christmas decorations. have our tickets for MVMCP; but am seriously begining to re-think our whole time frame here :sad2:

Let's not panic. (I don't think ccgegg was suggesting that we do.)
This event is being held at the Orange County Convention Center, which is on International Drive between SeaWorld and Universal. Registrants are pointed to 33 featured hotels, none of which are even near WDW.

I know it's hard for us to believe, but very few of those 45000 attendees will be staying onsite, and most of them won't even come to WDW at all. :confused3

I predict a small boost in park attendance, and that's it. But I would suggest avoiding International Drive that weekend!

We went in February once while there was a cheerleading competition going on. We stayed at All Star Movies. The resort was somewhat bad. We talked to some of the girls, and they had strict rules. They had to be in bed by a certain time. They had to practice a certain amount, and they couldn't be in the parks while they were competing. So, we never noticed them in the parks. It was the resort that was a pain. The lines for the foodcourt were LONG and the bus ride to downtown Disney in the evening was bad. Not only was it crowded, but teenagers dress just a little differently when Mommy's not there to approve. I wasn't impressed with them then. Otherwise, we didn't notice them being there.

I'm sure that it will be the same in December. I'm not worried about it unless they decide to stay in my resort.

The OP overstates the impact. We go early Dec every year and have been there during Pop Warner a couple times. I participated in Mousefest in both 2003 and 2004.

As fun as it is, Mousefest is a relatively small event. Although there may have been roughly 1000 participants overall, it is rare for a single Mousefest event to have much more than 100 participants. The MegaMouseMeet has several hundred but unless you go (at the Swan/Dolphin) you wouldn't even know it happened. The impact of Mousefest on park attendance is nil.

Although Pop Warner week has a major impact on certain resorts, the affect on park attendance in the past has been minor. Unless they change their habits, this is unlikely to change. I have yet to notice a large, identifiable Pop Warner group in the parks. Early Dec remains a time of relatively low park attendance.
I agree. We were there the second week in December last year and weren't really affected by Mousefest or Pop Warner. We had a few cheer groups at our resort (POFQ) but the only time we encountered them was on the bus and they were fine. We did encounter a lot of spontaneous cheering in the parks but still, didn't affect us in any way other than being loud when we walked by. The only evidence I saw of Mousefest was a family that we saw on the bus several times who were wearing Mousefest buttons. If I was staying in a Value resort during that time I might seriously rethink my dates, but if you're in a moderate or deluxe, or if the noise at the values wouldn't bother you, I say don't change travel plans.
