MouseFest 2006

Not sure where to post this question. We will be at DIsney WOrld Dec.9-16 and i was just reading about mousefest 2006 and was wondering does this make the parks extra crowded. Its say it last until Dec. 11 so i was not sure how this effects the crowds. Is this a big event? We went a week later to avoid Pop Warner week now i read about this. Thank you for any info you might have on this event.

I was there last year for MouseFest and I don't think it made the parks any more crowded. There are special 'meets' scheduled around the different parks, and one big huge meet at the S/D on Sat. MVMCP on the 7th will have a bunch of us attending, but it really doesn't impact the overall crowds.
You most likely won't notice a thing...well, unless you happen to run into a bunch of Disney nuts in a huge group!!

According to the MouseFest home page, at the moment there are 1470 people signed up for MouseFest. Add in families and this would probably only be a maximum of 4000-5000 people (probably much less).

Five thousand people is a drop in the bucket at WDW. Even if all 5000 people got together in one spot at the same time (which never happens), they still wouldn't have much of an effect on crowd levels at any particular park.

If you happen to be at one of the parks on its official MouseFest day, you will notice groups of people with MouseFest buttons and pins, but the overall crowd levels are not affected.

If you're going to be at WDW during the week, check out the MouseFest schedule of events on the home page and drop by a meet or two. We have lots of fun, kind of like a family reunion of people who have never met before.
