........ rather than a bunch of teenage and twenty something girls dressed up.........

LOL - Dave that is the second time in 2 days you referred to teenagers dressing up - you're not getting a bit of a Grumpy Old Man there, are you? :rotfl2:

Nope, but I have never been a big fan of the characters and am amazed at how much money people will spend on meeting folks in halloween costumes. It seems like a family friendly lap dance club to me. And this is often at the expense of providing real entertainment like a rag time piano player at Casey's Corner, or a Barbershop Quartet. I remember a time in the 70's and early 80's where the characters were minor players rather than the main event.

To charge the smae price to see a bunch of pretty girls, compared to a full on show with skilled equestrian stunts and dances, well frankly it leaves me scratching my head. And ironically more of the "fans" will go to this and never don one of the four ranch hats of BBWWS.

Different strokes. But yep, spose I am a grumpy old man. :hippie:

I think it's a really cute idea actually, and we did really consider it because my 3 year old likes the princess movies. But at those prices when I can eat at the much better (quality wise) steakhouse for less, it leaves me asking the question.

So I am indeed a little bit of

But yep, I am a grumpy old man. After a lifetime of Disney worship and a fortune spent, I am really feeling like over the last 10 years, despite pockets of brilliance, I cannot help but feel Disney have lost their way. But this is probably better fodder for another thread.

Oops i meant the 23rd i booked this meal for lol. We arrive on the 22nd.
When Kyra first met Belle she was a bit unsure but now she is princess obsessed lol.

I'm looking forward to hear how Kyra gets on, by the sounds of it she is going to love it !! Our dd loves watching the princesses on dvd but I was amazed to see her run to Mickey, Minnie etc to give them a hug yet with the princesses she crouched down and put her hands over her eyes ... not at all what I was expecting but perhaps she just couldn't believe she was meeting a real princess ;) hubby has long arms and short pockets so perhaps this could be a treat for the mummy and dd :)

(Sorry, forgot to quote davewasbaloo)

Fair enough - you wouldn't get my husband in AdC unless it was about 5 Euros a head, but dtr and I have eaten there twice and I actually loved the food. I don't often get to eat foie gras and veal, so it was a nice change. Although dtr is 10 (and knows the secret about them not being the REAL Cinderella etc) she really enjoyed the experience.
Neither of us has ever been even curious about BBWWS. Still, as my dear old Nan would say, "it wouldn't do for us all to be the same. What a boring world it would be" (I think everybody's Gran says something like that.)

Yes they may be girls dressed in fancy dress but my DD believes that they are the princesses and who am i to take that away from her.

my DD loves Belle but i hear she isnt at Auberge very often so she will have to do with Cinders or Aurora and co lol.

Ooh I'm pleased with the new beef choice. My DD prefers beef to chicken and she loves broccoli and peas in their pods - I know - I've got an abnormal one!!! I have a nightmare getting her to eat a chicken nugget!!! :rotfl:

I'm going with the notion that DD1 will eat v little and then I won't get stressed!

She'll be beside herself if Cinderella isn't there :( I told DH off the other night as he said she was going to see Cinderella - I'm so anxious not to build her little hopes up!!

Of course she loves all the Princesses but Cinders is her absolute fave!!

PS - I wouldn't eat pink meat let alone my DD1 - I like my meat cremated :rotfl: I hope burgers etc are all well done as I know how the French have a penchant for blue stuff!

I'm like you - I don't like my meat pink if I can avoid it. I don't now about burgers, but when I went last month, I had 2 steaks while I was away - one in Cafe Mickey and one in Walts. Both were ordered "well done" and both came out as I was expecting - "British well done". If they don't offer you a choice in how you want it cooked, then I would expect pink because that seems to be how steak "should" be cooked, both in France and other places (Uk included in fact).

Maybe somebody can advise whether you get that choice with the child's menu at Auberge. If not, then I'd personally expect it pink (medium or so).

Word of advice is when ordering steak, burgers which are steak/ground beef (mainly from TS restaurant, not CS) ask for it to be well done, even if you are not offered it as they assume you want it cooked the way they do. Also if it turns up with a bit of pink in, do not be afraid to ask for it to be cooked a bit more. This happened to me in the HNY, I thought they would just cook it for longer, no they threw the whole meal away & cooked me a fresh one:thumbsup2

I have to say I used to always want mine well done but have recently started to eat it with a bit of pink in it & it does tend to have more flavour to it.

Don't worry to those who wants to meet Belle or Cinderella.
Belle is in the restaurant everyday for the lunch or dinner
And Cinderella is in the entrance of the restaurant. And if you're lucky, you'll meet her Ugly Stepsisters and her Wicked Stepmother outside the Auberge.

You can also meet Mickey and Minnie in theirs Royals outfits, Fairy GodMother, Suzy and Perla, Aurora and Prince Philipp,Snow White and the Prince, Ariel and Prince Eric!

After the summer season, the Princesses will be in the restaurant only for Lunch when the park close at 20.00 and for Lunch and Dinner when the park close at 22.00

Yes i know we are booked for lunch at 12, im just saying that i hope Belle is there when we go.

:lmao: indeed

Then again, we're all guilty of making daft mistakes at times ;)

Yep me too- i have been known to say some VERY daft things.

It looks like a piece of meat in that picture though, it could easily be mistaken for pork.

Dining with a Princess............. :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc it's all a little girl dreams about. After reading this thread and 'its a small world' review I am def booking lunch for my DD, who is princess mad. Thanks for such a wonderful description. Can't wait to sample all the delicious food.... and desserts of course. Sandie.:cool1: :cool1:
