"mouseboats"?????

Help!

I've read a few trip reports- and they mention "mouseboats"....
please someone tell me what they are, where do I get one, and how much are they???

Watermice are zippy little 2 seater boats that you can rent at resort marinas. I think it's like $30.00 for 45 minutes. (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong) We rented them last year at WL and had a great time. We rode all over Bay Lake and into Seven Seas Lagoon. Lots of fun!

They also have a length of stay plan. We used it this past August for an eleven day stay. It worked out great. You can put up to five drivers names on the list, those are the only ones allowed to drive the boats. But you can also have passengers. It worked out well as we had ten people in our group, 8 adults and 2 kids. With tax I believe the total was $212, but we used the boats so much. If we had paid the per use fee it would have been well over $500. The plan allows you to take out the two person watermice (which are a blast!), the four seater canopy boat, and the ten person pontoon boats.
I believe if you do this at Ft. Wilderness or Wilderness Lodge, it also includes use of bikes. Contemporary does not have the bikes.
We were even able to have a picnic on the pontoon boat while we were overlooking the Magic Kingdom. Very nice!

I have heard that these "mouseboats" are available at OKW too. Is this correct? Do they have the other kinds of boats as well? Thank you!

We rented watermice last Christmas and had a blast! Seems to me that we paid around $20 for 30 minutes. We were staying at BWV, so we rented ours at the marina in front of Yacht & Beach Club. What fun!

Yes, I believe that they rent watermice at OKW too. But I'm not 100% sure, so maybe someone else will verify it.

How many people can fit in a mouse boat? I'll be going with my DH, DD (9) and friend of DD (also 9). Will the girls have to split up to ride?

Only two people can go and the more weight you have the slower they go. The price at the GF marina was 30.00 for an hour (plus tax) or 24.xx for a half hour (plus tax). I do NOT recommend renting them at the YC marina, as the boats over there move like turtles!!! There is a lot of traffic to Epcot and MGM with the larger boats, so that is why the mouseboats go slower on that lake.
