After reading many reviews, there seems to one concern that popped up allot. Mouse-keeping - seems like allot of negative reviews ranging from - what time they would show up, very basic necessities, such as making beds and replacing towels/soaps/etc were poor, dust was awful. Has anyone ever noticed any of these things? It also mentioned due to the poor cleaning - anyone with allergies should avoid the cabins due to the 'dust level'. I'm not wanting to start a negative thread here, but, would love some feedback, because all of us have severe allergies. Just would like to know what to expect. Do you also think all of this could depend on the loop/mouse-keeper you get?

I really believe it has to do with who you get. We are going for the third time next week. Last year, the first time we went, the cabin was immaculate. We were thrilled, I wasn't even afraid that the kids had their toys on the floor. It was that clean. Unfortunately, we only spent one night there because we had a death in the family, and had to drive 23 hours home. 2 weeks later we were back, and the cabin was filthy. The deck hadn't been cleaned, floor hadn't been vacuumed, etc. We asked for another cabin, and got one. It wasn't much better. My husband vacuumed the floor before we unpacked, and I called Mousekeeping because of the filth behind the murphy bed, which even included a "pile" of clothes. We were promised it would be taken care of, but the dirty clothes from somebody else's family were still there the day we checked out!:confused3 We tip our Mousekeeping daily, and exceptionally well, but it didn't matter. We loved the resort so much, we are willing to give it one more try! Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Just home from spending the last week of July in WDW at Ft W cabins.

Our Mousekeeper was awesome, exellent and the best!!!

We had plenty of towels, soaps, dishwasher ran, everything cleaned up looking great.

Now, I do think the cabins are needing a little work. The sofa as looking worn, especially along the arms. The dishwasher was missing a wheel.
Overall the cabins are still a great find and a great secret at WDW.

Which cabin did you have?

Sorry about everything - hopefully this time will be better!! :goodvibes

When we stayed in the cabins this past January, we thought it could have used a really good dusting for sure. :sad2:
We also found dishes left in the dishwasher when we arrived. We had only used a mug or two and mousekeeping put those into the dishwasher with the others and ran it and left those in there. We were on the dining plan so we didn't cook at all. It was our first visit at the Fort, but I'm guessing that at least you shouldn't find dishes in the dishwasher upon arrival. :confused3

Other than that every thing was fine.

For our next trip to the cabins this Sept., I will be making a closer inspection to the cabin before settling in.

As you know, the cabins are not cheap! I've only found Mousekeeping problems in the higher priced resorts!:confused3 At least for the price, you would expect it to be clean upon arrival. We know we're "camping" and clean up after ourselves, but I don't want to arrive this week and have to clean up after somebody else's family!:sad2: Hopefully 3rd times the charm for our visits to the cabins!:thumbsup2

We have been in cabins 7 or 8 times. We haven't had any problems with the quality of housekeeping but just with timing. They like to come way before we are ready to go and then if you turn them away they don't get back to you until really late. We have had problems with things not working but they respond quickly to problems.

We may just have a problem then also, since, we will not be getting up and leaving early, we don't plan to head to the parks until 1 on most days.

we loved mousekeeping on our cabin....however....
I think because we were the last cabin on the loop, it was between 2:30 AND 3:30 when mousekeeping would come. we always return to the cabin mid-day and they either had'nt been there yet, or looked like we were the next cabin.

twice we just met her at the door for fresh towels, because my ds was resting.

aside from that, there were repairs and maintance that needed attention. little things that add up when you consider how much we pay.
fridge door rail was broken, falling off
stove door sounded like it would fall off the hinges everytime you opened it
the curtain rod in the bathroomwas missing a finial (dh say only I would notice that)

while I'm venting... could the trash can under the kitchen sink BE ANY SMALLER? I mean seriously, they know large families are staying there. we produce a LOT of garbage !!!!!

I did'nt make a list when I was there, but dh and I were both commenting that we thought we would be more impressed for the money

We stayed in a cabin in June and had a wonderful mousekeeper. Really added something to our stay. Everything was super clean. Many, many small things she did that made us feel special. Left us notes, towel animals, arranged stuffed animals or pictures or whatever we had laying out that day. Can't say enough good things about her.
