Hi...
Just wanting some suggestions/opinions/etc. What is the advantage (if any) to going through Mouse for Less to book our vacation as opposed to calling the Disney Travel Co. and booking through them directly?

If you'd rather not post here you can always send me a private message. Last year we went through the Disney Travel Co. and things went fine...but I stressed over every single detail....just wondering if it's better to let someone else stress over the details...LOL

Thanks for any and all input.

Like most places the Mouse For Less spends more time and energy on WDW. Their site, like most other have tons of inaccuracy.

They aren't going to save you a bunch of money or make things much simpler.

All you need to do is book with Disney and check the special offer page on dl.com and change to a better deal if one comes up.

If you want to book with someone else try Costco or AAA, they have true benefits and lower costs too. And most likely representatives that have been to dl in the last year.

If you call in to make a reservation through AAA or Costco you will likely get transferred to WDTC anyways. They will answer "Costco Travel" but they will be from WDTC, you just get the Costco perks. Your package will come from WDTC and be the same as if you booked directly through Disney.

*Exception is if you go into your local AAA office and book with a travel agent there.

You might want to read my post more carefully.

I didn't say Costco is better, I said they offer more too, like Disney does. Of course your lanyard may say Costco on it instead of WDCT.

The problem like I noted first, is most 3rd parties do not have well traveled representatives. Even WDTC for that matter, but at least they have better resources for information. Most other travel companies focus on WDW because it generates much larger traffic and revenue per transaction. So people set their sites up for WDW and DLR is the afterthought.

Thanks for the input....I'm taking notes for sure. I appreciate all suggestions. :-)

After great debate, and checking with a local travel agent, DTC, etc., I ended up going with AAA. We saved over $300 from any other pricing (including DTC).

Having said that, I only went that route, because we're staying onsite this time. The times we've stayed at Hojo, it has been far cheaper to book them seperately (hotel and tickets). So, it depends on where you're staying. Good neighbor hotels aren't the best deal on DTC site.

We want to stay at the DLH again....it worked out best with my Dad having to use a motorized cart and next year when we go, BOTH of my parents will need to have a cart and we can fit both of them just fine in a standard room and it's not that far for them to scoot on back to the room and rest during the heat of the day.

Can you use AAA if you don't have an account with them?

I have used AAA couple times but prefer Disney Travel directly. IF for nothing else they have always been accommodating when I have booked at rack rates and a promo was released later on. Not sure if I would get that same adjustment through a third party agent.

Maybe I am a conspiracy theorist but I think I might have a better chance of an upgrade if I booked with Disney direct. No proof of course just my own insanity! :lmao:

I've always used DTC for our trips and been very satisfied....I did request a quote from Mouse For Less and what they quoted me was a couple hundred more than what DTC quoted me....so, I would say at this point that I'm comfortable with going with the Disney Travel Co.

Thank you to everyone for the suggestions...I appreciate it!
