Mouse Ears Components

I have this idea for some custom made mouse ear beanies, prior to our trip to Disneyland. I was curious if anyone has ever made their own beanie? Maybe somewhere that the plastic ear components can be acquired cheaply, instead of having to cannibalize official ones. i don't care what color they are, as I guess I will be hand painting them. My designs on paper are pretty cool, would love to see them realized before our May/June vacation. Any help?

Black felt around a not too thick foam would make for sturdy ears that can be attached to a beanie
