Could someone give me some information on motorized scooter rental or wheel chair rental within the parks? We will be there Thanksgiving week- my mother will require the use of one of these. Also, we're wondering the best schedule for the week in terms of best days at which parks....any suggestions? I know it'll be crowded all week, but wondered if some days are worse than others at certain parks. Thanks.

Here's a link to the DIS page about touring WDW with mobility disabilities. It includes information about renting a motorized scooter (ecv) in the parks.
The park ecvs can't be reserved and are first come, first served, so there is no guarantee that one will be available. Probably not a problem if you get to the parks early, but you may not find one if you arrive later in the morning, it's busy or if you park hop.
A lot of people choose to rent from one of the outside medical rental companies. Here's a list of the companies DIS posters frequently report they are pleased with:

Walker Mobility:

We have lots of info on the disABILITIES Board about touring with a wheelchair, ecv or disabilities. You can follow the link in my signature to get there.

The Thanksgiving week-end can be crazy; if you can work in your visit to the Magic Kingdom before the Friday or Saturday after T-day, do so!!

Worst crowds we've ever encountered were at the MK on the Friday after.

If you're going to be staying on-site, take advantage of the Extra Magic Hour. It can help you beat some of the crowds. If not, avoid those parks on those days. Here's a link with info in case you don't know which days apply to which parks:

We rent a wheelchair for my MIL when we visit; the rental locations are right near the entrance to each park. They're a lifesaver; she wouldn't be able to go at all without these. If you'd like to send me a PM, feel free . . . I'd be glad to share any first-hand experiences with you.

I would recommend renting an ECV/scooter from an off site location. I used to rent ECVs at the Disney parks, but for the same amount of money I rent from off site. Disney ECVs do not have a long lasting battery - I cannot tell you how many times I have been at the far end of a park when the battery died. They do bring another one, but you lose a lot of time. Plus you are not always guaranteed an ECV will be available when you arrive at the park no matter what time you arrive. And, important to me is to be able to park hop, & you are definitely not guaranteed an ECV if you park hop the same day.

I have rented an ECV from Walker Mobility a few times now & have had no problems. It is delivered to my resort usually before I arrive & is picked up after I leave.
