I haven't camped in Fort Wilderness since the 1980's, so I'm definitely out of the loop (so to speak!!). Are you permitted to have a motorhome and small tent on the same site? If a family of 6 wants to spread out between the motor home and tent for sleeping, is that permitted?

Yes, you are allowed 1 MH and 1 tent on a site. You cannont have 1 MH and a pop up camper on 1 site.

CJK,

Be aware, if you aren't already, the Premium (biggest and most expensive type) sites don't have a sand/coquina tent pad. Not all Premiums have a convenient open space near the pavement for a tent that needs staked down in dirt. (they may have inconvenient spaces though). If you have a tent that doesn't require stakes like a dome tent, you could put that on the Premium pavement.

Full and Preferred sites do have the pad but the paved portion is a little smaller (Premiums are 18' wide paved, these two are 12'). Lengths vary but Premiums are the longest since they paved over the pads during the make-over several years ago.

When you make your ressie mention you have a tent to the Cast Member to add as a note to your ressie. So based on the size of your rv and desire for a tent, you can decide if you can go with Full/Preferred or Premium.
