...I hope that the other rumor going around about changing the Indy stunt show to the Indy ride from DL comes to fruition. I don't think they need two stunt shows in the same park, IMHO.

Someone once made a pretty compelling argument in favor of such a move. (Might have been Matt from mgmstudios.org.)

If I remember correctly, the basis was in the costs to run the Indy stunt show. You've got dozens of performers (many trained stunt people) and additional support staff required to run the show. For a ride, you've got a lot fewer staff necessary and that staff is paid a lower wage.

I believe Disney only pays $1 mil per year to license the "Indiana Jones" name and theming, so it's very economical in that regard.

I have seen the stunt show in Paris and it is fantastic. I had my niece and nephew with me, ages 7 & 11 at the time. Both loved the show and I was careful to tell them beforehand (especially 7 yr old) that anything they saw was meant to happen even if it looked like an accident.

Each stunt was explained up on a big screen video after it happened and regarding the motorcyclist going on fire, the fire is put out within seconds and they show how it is done, with special suits, covered in gel etc.

Or maybe we should petition Disney execs to turn it into a less frightening Stitch themed attraction. :p ;)

Amen

"If it can't be done with XS, it probably shouldn't be done at all."

DS too!!! We have the Love Bug box set after we rented and watched all the Love Bug movies last year. DS is a car fanatic, and we were staying at ASMo last year. Knowing how much he loves cars, I knew he'd appreciate Herbie a bit more if he knew the Herbie story.....he now loves Herbie. He owns 3 Herbie cars (one is Ocho--aka "dirty" Herbie) and a Herbie ornament. I've showed him pictures of the stunt show (well, those available anyway) and he is beside himself with excitement to see this show and his Herbie!! Heck, I'm kinda excited too :hyper: Really looking forward to it...........
