Hi Everyone,

I found this article which you might find interesting (can't remember where I found it so if someone has already posted here then apologies).

Basically it says that Disney as an organisation is currently in the doldrums and gives the authors ideas of how to 'save' itself, here’s the links:-

Some interesting ideas, from my own point of view I do think a couple of the points are valid.

The animation studio has gone off the boil as late, Lilo & Snitch might be good but it's no Lion King / Beauty & the Beast / Tarzan etc. I think they need to go back to what their best at and pick a good solid fairytale (for want of a better word) and throw PD at it like never before, the films I just mentioned are prime examples of this and I could watch them all day.

As for the theme parks, AK definitely needs a couple of BIG new attractions and an end-of-day show; I've completed the entire park and been out by 3pm on the two occasions I've been. It's a great zoo/park but there's not much there at the moment to make me want to go again, its two main rides (Rapids and Dinosaur) are not great and whilst there are excellent shows and tours they don’t it an essential visit. Personally I think it needs its own version of Sunset Boulevard, a great row of shops and eateries followed by two of the best rides in WDW plus two great shows, Beastly Kingdom anyone?

Also I think Epcot needs do something more, especially in the World Showcase which is basically a shopping and eating ‘experience’. I know Mission: Space will make a big difference but they need to spruce up the Sea and Land to make then repeatable events.

Anyway I know I’ve knocked WDW a but here, but like everyone else I totally the love the place and there’s nowhere else like it on earth, I just think animation and theme parks have moved on a great deal in the last few years and Disney wants to make sure it doesn’t leave itself behind.

Anyone else got any thoughts?

Cheers
Bilboo.
