motion sickness question

Hi all,
As the time gets closer I seem to have more and more questions!

As far as rides, I can do the vast majority of them with no problem (at other parks). For instance: roller coasters, space shot, water rides. However, I can not do the tea cups or anything with a constant wide swing (we have a pirate boat that swings back and forth at our local amusement park and it makes me want to barf!) I should add that I have NEVER thrown up during or after a ride, I just get an "ooky" feeling and a headache, but sometimes this lasts hours.

What rides should I avoid in your opinion?

Anne

Hello LuvsTink!

I am probably on the extreme side of motion sickness. I even get a little sick on Ellen's Energy Adventure (because of the large screen).

From what I've read on these boards, everyone is different and different rides can cause problems for some and not others.

I took some dramamine (motion sickness pills) and rode Rock N Roller Coaster. Now, for most coaster riders, RNRC is not a big deal (its a very smooth ride).... however, this was a big step for me! I did just fine with the Dramamine. Just make sure you get the non-drowsy kind.

Some other rides that you might want to look our for (as far as motion sickness) are: Body Wars, Star Tours, Mission: Space, & Tower of Terror. But if you normally don't get motion sickness and take some Dramamine, you should be fine.

I don't normally get very motion sick, but the two rides I had problems with on our last trip were Mad Hatter's Tea Party and Mission: Space. On the teacups, I felt really dizzy, but otherwise okay. Mission: Space on the other hand.. I felt like I was going to throw up the entire time and I was very disoriented for a few hours afterward.

You sound alot like me motion sickness-wise - I avoid the Teacups & I will, unfortunately, take a pass on Mission:Space, as I know folks who don't get motion sick who did on MS....
I heard they now offer barf bags on MS - that tells me this is not a ride I should try......

the mad hatter tea cups

i rode on the rides like body wars and star wars
and they did not bother me but the
mad hatter tea cups made my stomach feel
all weird

if i were you i would try the body wars and the star wars
but stay away from the tea cups
