I would love to do Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, but I am very susceptible to motion sickness, has anyone used Dramamine or other over the counter remedies on any attractions? If so, how well did they work?

I use dramamine every time i go to an amusement park...i still cant do really spinny rides like tea cups and tilt a whirl(make me hurl) but other then that i can do anything in the parks with dramamine. i also use it for traveling in the car on long rides.

I used to use dramamine, made me tired and gave me a dry mouth. Started using Bonine two trips ago and it's great! No tiredness, no dry mouth, and best of all, they are chewable!

Hi, I started a thread on motion sickness too, and got some great advice! You may want to do a "search" for motion sickness... another great thread that popped up had a title something like "motion sickness miracle cure" (miracle was in the title that I do remember!!)

I have had success with Bonine, but last July I still had problems with Star Tours, that was severe... I did no roller coasters either... so after reading the threads and talking to my doctor I'm going with the patch!!

I think one of the great tips was if Bonine is a 24 hr med - take it before bed!!

Wrist bands, and ginger is also a great help (they both worked great when I was pg) I get ginger tablets at the health food store!

Unfortunately, this is a trial and error thing because every person is different as far as severity of motion sickness and which drugs/remedies work for them. I have very extreme motion sickness, swinging on a swing does me in, so the natural remedies do not work at all. I have used the patch with good results for flying, but generally I do dramamine for car trips (I get sick after about 30 minutes.) I tried bonine once and had terrible side effects, I felt like I had concrete blocks tied to each limb for the entire 24 hours. It was awful, I would advise trying anything before hand just in case. Dramamine does make me sleep in the car, but I don't even try thrill rides with any treatment. I can barely do cars/planes with the maximum dosage. Obviously, most folks are not as severe as I am. On reason I love Disney, there is still a lot I can see and do there!!!

Thing is, I can do Space Mt., and basic roller coasters, but Rock 'n' Rollercoaster has 3 loops, and that worries me a bit, and it's in the dark, which increases my vertigo having no stationary point to fix on. Tower of Terror is out, that I know will ruin my day, same with spinning rides, and it really sucks because I love those things, but my equilibrium just can't handle it.

I need motion sickness meds to go on Dumbo!! I take bonine and it works great for mostly everything, but it does not help me on rock n rollercoaster at all. I also don't do Mission space, teacups or anything that spins because NOTHING helps the motion sickness I get from these rides.
