Is there anything else to use besides the pills that make you sleepy to stop motion sickness? I get motion sickness, and hate taking those pills b/c I get sooooo tired.
What else works?

Ginger can help.

You can also try SeaBands. They are wrist bands that apply pressure to your pressure points on your wrist and are supposed to help.

Seasickness and Morning Sickness have been compared in studies. If you keep your stomach somewhat full (not STUFFED, but not starving empty) that can also help too.

I am blessed that I do not suffer from motion sickness at all, but these are two things that my parents keep on their boat all the time, in case a guest becomes motion sick.

Good Luck

Another recommendation for Sea Bands. I use them on Roller Coasters too and they work very well.

Have you tried the chewable Bonine? It lasts 24 hours with one pill and does not make me as sleepy as Dramamine does. Oh, and I take it with a meal or it does tend to make me drowsy.

Good luck finding something that works for you. Motion sickness is NOT fun at all. If you find something that works without knocking you out, please post an update.

I get extremely motion sick. This May DH and I took our first cruise and the seas were really pretty rough. I used the patch behind the ear and when it was really bad I also used bonine. DH is never motion sick but this trip he actually felt ill also at times so he took bonine. Bonine worked great. Patches worked great for the long term too. I am anxious to try it at WDW on the rides.

Is Bonine over the counter? I need to get something for this wed. We are taking the kids to a small amusement park, and I would like to get some for that. I love rides, but don't want to take any chance of feeling sick.

I have the ReliefBand and it's wonderful! A little annoying after a couple hours on the wrist, but nothing bad. I was a bit nervous spending that money on it, but I'm so glad I did. Flying is a breeze now!

Still have to test it out on a ride, though.

Another vote for bonine. Just make sure you take it BEFORE you engage in an activity that may make you sick.

I read a tip on this board a while ago that helped....I carry alchol swabs pads. When I feel sick, rip it open, in hale several times and the feeling passes within 10 seconds,

Dramamine makes a non-drowsy formula. We just used them for DD on our trip to South Carolina last week and she did not get tired at all.

Those bands never did a thing for me...I use chewable bonine, doesn't make me tired but works great!

Eeyore74, I'm glad to hear the Relief Band works for you! If its FDA approved, it must work for something. LOL! DBF is going to try it out by seeing Bourne Supremacy - again!

Aprilgail2, was it the Relief Band that you tried?
