For those of you who have tried the scopolamine patch, does it make you drowsy as does the meclizine?
Anyone try MotionEaze?
i get pretty baaaad motion sickness too. i've had to leave some 2d movie screens due to it.....
With that said, I have tried the following for motion sickess.
Meclizine (bonnine), drammamine, scopatch (scopolamine)
The drammamine and meclizine are the first line of defense. i take a meclizine before amusement park trips or even nothing at all. i'm okay as long as there are no inversions or backwards sections such as on EE. I of course, will never try mission space to say the least.
I reserve the scopatch as my 'big guns' for cruises and long flights. AND, at that, I only use it if i start to feel queasy. I can do a full cruise on meclizine and drammamine no problem as long as it's not a tiny cruise ship. The problem with the scopatch is that you have to wait for it to work (applying it a couple of hours prior) and the side effects, for me, are terrible. Dry mouth is fierce and it dilates your pupils so you get blurry vision.
I'm fine with taking meclizine (i'm not drowsy with it) and limiting what I ride. Sometimes, it doesn't matter what meds you have on board, you're still gonna puke......
