I went to see LOTR Ret. of the King this weekend and ended up with MOTION SICKNESS from the wild camera work! (we were in the third row, looking up, which I think made it worse)
Am I in big trouble with rides, especially motion simulators like Star Tours?
I went on it 12 years ago, and I don't remember it bothering me, but I also don't usually spend 1/3 of a movie with my eyes shut because my eyes are freaking out!
I must be getting old!
:tilt: :scared: :faint: :crazy2:   :headache: :worried: :scared1:

Star Tours, Body Wars and the Tea Cups at MK all cause motion sickness for me.

I'm fine with all other rides. (I haven't tried Mission Space yet.)

Since Star Tours didn't bother you before, try it. If it bothers you this time, do not try Body Wars.

Good luck.

We have been avoiding Star Tours because DH had trouble on Body Wars several years ago. But this past trip, we decided to try it. It wasn't bad at all. I didn't have any problem, and DH said there was only one point where he felt a little funny, but it passed right away.

If I start to feel bad, I always look at a stationary point, and I am fine.

I love the Tea Cups, but DH won't even go on them. Needless to say, Mission:Space is out of the question for us.

I've never been prone to motion sickness, but Star Tours does mess with my head. Body Wars does me in completely. I had no problem on Mission: Space, and other simulators don't bother me.

There IS something about the camera tracking on Star Tours that seems to be an issue if your problem is visual rather than triggered by actual motion (as you would get on the Tea Cups). You might try Bonine or Low Drowsy Dramamine. Star Tours really is a fun ride if you can swing it.

Hi! If you are going when it is not very busy, you can check with the CM at the start of the line for Star Tours and see if it is possible for them to do a "flight check" or a "ride check" (I've heard it called by both names. If they have the time (and they are very polite and will tell you if it isn't going to be possible), you can ride in the vehicle with only the movie and no motion.

I can't brace myself well enough to manage any of the simulators any more, and it was really nice to get to see the Star Tours movie again.

I get sick as a DOG on Body Wars, but I don't have a problem with Star Tours. Of course DS7 wants to go on it THREE TIMES IN A ROW!!! I did it twice and that did me in for about 30 minutes or so! Haven't gotten to try M:S yet, but I'll give it a whirl!! (heheheheh)

Star ***** is good but if you get motionsickness then i don't know. The camera moves alot and the pod bounces around. So it might.

Because Star t o u r s is a competing t r a v e l a g e n t , don't ya know. LOL
How funny!:p

I get travel sick very easily but love all types of rides. I always wear my travel sickness bands when I go to theme parks to stop me feeling sick. I would really recommend these to people who get sick but want to try rides. I have done this for years and have been on lots of white knuckle rides and have never been sick - including on Mission Space and Star *****.

NO WAY!!! I had NO idea! That's TOO funny!!:hyper:

I get motion sickness pretty easily too but I still ride the simulators with my DH, I just keep my eyes closed! The actual jerking around isn't that bad and it's the visuals that make you sick, not the movement. It's not that much fun for me since I can see anything but he doesn't have to ride alone and I'm not sick to my stomach. No big deal.
