Mother's Day

GRRRR! My MIL accused me of planning the trip on a weekend she is traditionally out of town so I wouldnt have to invite her to go with us. WTH? I picked a weekend that worked for us and our friends. We worked around work schedules, state school testing, business trips, holidays, etc. We have invited MIL/FIL 3 of the last 4 trips we have taken. We have taken ONE vacation with out them, this will make 2. GIVE ME A BREAK!

LOL..this is how we happened in to it as well...WASL's just ended. My MiL refuses to try Disney trips with us anyway, so nothing said there, tho. We don't spend it with her as much as my DM anyway.

We will be there as well. I didn't really plan to be there for mother's day (I kind of forgot about it). It just so happens that DS 14th birthday is May 13th (some years his birthday has been on mother's day) and we planned the trip. Post WASL (I also work at a school) and post spring break and usually a pleasant time to go.

MD is our arrival day. At first we were just going to hit the pool, but I think we'll hit the parks now too.

We're locals, but staying at DLH as a birthday treat for my son who turns 5 on the 12th, so this trip for MD kinda fell into it. We aren't doing the brunch, I REFUSE to pay that much for a meal. We don't have any firm plans for Sunday, some swimming, maybe some theme park time, I dunno. I desperately need a haircut and said screw it I'm getting one done at the Spa at GCH, but darn it, they don't do haircuts there, grrrrr.

Oh, and just to be clear.......calories consumed at the happiest place on earth don't count on Mother's Day do they? I just caught sight of those tigger tails!!

I think I'll be there too! I'm flying in on the 10th and can book the DL hotel on DVC points. My daughter lives in Santa Barbara, but I think it would be fun to spend the weekend at DL and maybe just swim and enjoy the hotel on Saturday and then go into the park on Sunday.

Do they still do haircuts on Main Street? That might be a fun treat...I know at WDW-MK they put all kinds of silly gook in your hair...I could MAYBE do that for Mother's Day.

Does anyone know if there is a charge for parking when you stay at the DL hotel?

Sorry, no barber shop or salon at Disneyland. I think somewhere in DTD you can get hair done kiddie style.

There's Libby Lu in DTD and Princess Fantasy Faire. Both will do hairstyles that are popular with little girls and tweens. DL has never had a barber shop to my knowledge.
