Is Mother's Day (May 13th - a Sunday) busier than a normal Sunday?

We were going to try to do Fantasmic! and the fireworks that night rather than Fri. or Sat. night.

Or should we try Friday night (which is a grad night party starting at 11pm - don't know how that affects the normal shows for regular guests)?

We can't go on Sat. since at least one of us will have a DAP and it's a blockout date.

Sunday, Mother's Day is a busier but not a huge Sunday.

It's hard to tell about Friday of the same weekend. The reason is they changed Grad Night's hours and last year they didn't run F! that weekend(it was not a regular closure).

The problem may be with Grad Night stopping at 11pm instead of 12am. They may only run one early showing of F!. Also Grads will be in the parks that evening as they recieve a Park Hopper to use during the day. They may not all be inclined to watch F! that night with the regular guest since they get and exclusive showing of F! during the party.

So if the grads get their own F! showing (let's assume most of them skip the earlier show for reg. guests) would WE have lower crowds for F! on that Fri. or on Sun?

I'd say Sunday between the two. It is just a guess, since it's a new situation with Grad Nights running this way, that the grads will hold off knowing they get thier own show. Since the party will have the normal guests out of the park by 11, it may only offer one show. But Sunday should have 2 showings of F!.

I've been to the parks on Mother's day twice and it is definately busier than the typical Sunday that time of year. Not summer busy, but busier. The thing that I noticed is that Disney didn't seem to have their summer staffing going in full swing yet. I have no actual evidence of this, just my perception.

I have no idea about Grad Night or how it works so I can't tell you which would be better. If you go on Mother's day just be prepared for crowds and you'll have a great time.

Well, for those who have noticed my multiple posts, it's clear I am in the beginning stages of planning, and that means change.

We are now moving things up by one week so we will hit at least one grad night (not a big deal) and will NOT be there for Mother's Day.

We've been twice on Mother's Day Sunday.... and Sunday was great... it was the Friday night before that was pretty packed...
