We will be in Orlando for Mother's Day but are not planning on visiting WDW this trip :worried: I would love to see the New fireworks show at MK. I am going to keep trying to get a reservation for Narcossee's or California Grill, but as it doesn't seem likely, what would you do if you were me?? I am considering the beach at poly as I've read it is a great place to watch from, or the TTC dock area??? What else am I not thinking of?? HELP. Since it's mothers day I get to pick....would love to just get tickets to go to WDW, but dont think i'm gonna convince the hubby to spend the extra $$$. FYI we will be traveling with out DD10. Thank for your help and suggestions. :flower1:

Small caveat to this discussion in that no one knows what the out-of-park viewing experience is going to be like with the new show. We're all pretty much thinking/assuming/hoping it will be similar, but no one knows. The preview snippets and write-ups indicate more use of castle projections, but impossible to know what that will mean for viewing from afar.

We also don't know for sure that Disney will pipe in music to various places like Poly, GF, TTC, but let's just assume they continue to do so.

I prefer watching from the Poly beach area because it's a relatively straight view and it's a nice setting. But be warned the sound is not very loud. You could easily be too far out on the beach and not here anything.

I watched from the marina/Gaspy's area of GF a couple of week ago - it was decent but a bit of a different angle. Sound was OK but not super loud either. Here's a not very good pic.

I have never done TTC but have always read it's a good spot with nice, loud sound.

Hope that helps! :-)

Hope that helps! :-)

Good points! Thanks for the info and experience !!

TTC is a great location for viewing. No seats, and not much ambiance, but sound is great, and it has a great centered view.

Poly beach, the marina area, Trader Sam's outdoor patio and the luau cove beach are all good spots to see the fireworks. GF dock or marina. You may also want to consider the Ferrytale Wishes dessert party or Pirates and Pals.

Thanks for the help. How early would you think we would want to get to these areas before the fireworks start??? Say the poly Beach area? Or GF areas? Do people arrive to the areas early to claim spots ???

You don't need to arrive too early but it is the 3rd day of a new fireworks show after 15 years of wishes and mothers day so you might get a nice crowd. it won't be 4th of july or new years eve crowds so I personally wouldn't show up too early but if I was going I would show up earlier to stop at trader sams or get some dole whips just to make sure I didnt' get stuck in traffic or anything to get to poly on time.

But you mentioned trying to get Narcossee's or California Grill.. There is a lounge at california grill which is separate from dining and you can just walk up for that near fireworks time to watch them as long as it doesn't fill up. That's assuming they offer it because again it's mother's day and they might be doing some special expensive dining for mothers day with fireworks. It's not uncommon for signatures to do special meal events on common to eat out fancy holidays.

Also from a price standpoint, it's been awhile since I ate at those locations but isn't that close to getting tickets for magic kingdom in price?

To restate @GADisneyDad14, any advice to watch from these locations are valid for where you can see fireworks but it's a different fireworks show that changes on may 12th. If disney changes it to be like their star wars, it's mostly projections and not much fireworks. It's possible you won't want to see them but nobody will really know until may 12th when the new show has it's opening night.
