We have done a thread on Father Daughter dance songs, now lets do Mother Son dance songs. My DH2B really needs some ideas!! :rotfl:

Consider combining it with your other parent/child dance. We did and it worked out great- that way you moved through the dances quicker and there weren't just two people on the dance floor. Our whole immediate families ended up dancing to the song- which was really, really nice. I know I personally don't like going to weddings and watching the bride and groom dance for almost 4 minutes... and then the bride and her dad... and then the gorom and his mom... and then both of them with grandparents... it just eats the time and it's rather boring for the guests. Do them and open up the dance floor.

My brother dedicated the Backstreet Boys song the perfect fan to my Mom at his wedding... not a dry eye in the house....

Ok....

I danced to Ray Charles If I could w/my dad. I had never heard the song and he wouldn't tell me what song he had chosen. I found out that Barbara Streisand (sp??) wrote it for her son...or something like that. And Ray Charles redid it for dad/daughters...it was a perfect song for me and my dad..and I hope to use it if my DS (yeah...he's 4.5 years old) ever gets married.

He told me not to listen to the words and that he would give me the cd to listen to on the plane...I did just that, we gabbed thru the whole dance :cool1:

My dad didn't want to share his dance;-) so dh danced to Rod Stewart--Have I told yOu lately that I love you? something like that. It was sweet because while they are wonderful family, they don't really say I love you all that often...I thought it was very nice. He picked it out

My dad and I danced to Billy Dean's "If There Hadn't Been You".

At our vow renewal, my boys and I are dancing to "Let Them Be Little", again by Billy Dean.

While my parents are still married to eachother, DH's are not, and his Dad is remarried. We had DH and his Mom dance while Dad and I did (to Somewhere Out There from An American Tale), then while he danced with his StepMom, I danced with my FIL (to I'm Everything I Am Because You Love Me). Then during the other dance time DH dance with my Mom and Grandma, and I with my Grandpa. Our dance time was not very long, I think we only danced together for 3 or 4 songs. But we had a BLAST!

Just a thought, Baby of Mine, the lullaby from Dumbo. The modern version is sung by Bette Midler and just listening to it brings tears to my eyes (you can find it on one of the Disney CDs). Also fitting since it is a Disney song and your having a disney wedding. ;) For my wedding, I want to have the groom and MOTG dance, then half way through have all mothers and sons join in. :wizard:
