I don't know if i'm posting this in the right place, but i need some advice :)

I'm planning a disney trip for my mom and I, we're going in december 2011. I'm paying for this trip all on my own, and i want it to be a mother/daughter trip. I have 2 younger brothers (15), they're totally fine with staying home. My dad, not so much. I went on my make a wish trip december 2009, and my dad was h**l. He made us spend a day in Epcot which i did NOT want to do, which made us only spend 1/2 a day at AK. the whole point of my wish was to go to animal kingdom, and feed dolphins at sea world. He was really tense and streesed out about driving, etc. He really seemed angry that he was there... but he wants to go back?? I'd never go with him again.
SO, i talked to my mom and she said she would love to do a mother/daughter trip, and go to AK and magic kingdom, 2 days at each park.
My mother has stood by me through this whole illness. She visited me in the hospital every day, (i have been inpatient for over 250 days in the past 3 years), she did the ER trips, the appointments, everything. She never doubted that i was ill. I had a long period of time where all the doctors, and my father thought i was anxious/depressed/had eating disorders. Well, I actually have a life threatening liver disease, and my mom has stuck beside me the whole time. I owe her everything, and there's no better way to pay her back than by taking her to Disney world.
How do I explain this to my father? There's no way I can let him come. I probably sound like a snob, but I really need this to be a trip with just me and my mom. My wish trip was supposed to be stress free, and it wasn't. It was amazing, because of my mom and little brothers, and because of GKTW, etc.
Anyone have any ideas of how to make him realize that this is for my mom and I?

:goodvibes

I would very simply tell him that you love him, but that you have a dream that is very important for you to fulfill. Perhaps you and he could have a different time that is just for the two of you, doing something else, non-disney?
