Cruisers: Me, 45, third cruise on the Wonder
DD, 26, first cruise on Wonder
The Flight and day before....
I used my AA frequent flier miles for the trip to Orlando, so we had to get up on Wednesday the 5th for a 7am flight out of Memphis by 4:30am
We packed the night before so all we had to do was get dressed, feed the dogs and grab a cup of Joe before heading out the door at 5am. DH dropped us off at the Airport at 5:45am, and we had no wait at all for our boarding passes and went through security with no wait.
We had a puddlejumper to St Louis, a plane so small they had to weight all the luggage and move people around to balance the plane.
No legroom at all but the flight was smooth, although a bit loud as I was seated next to the propeller. I tried not think about that thing coming loose! Got to ST Louis on time and after a two hour layover, we boarded a 757 for MCO. We did get to catch a few winks on this flight.
The flight arrived at MCO early, and we had our luggage and were headed to Nationals Emerald aisle for our rental before our scheduled arrival time
I let DD pick out what car she wanted, as long as it wasn't white!!
She choose a dark blue Dodge Stratus, it had only 770 miles on it. And still had that new car smell! It took all of 5 minutes to get checked out of the rental garage and head toward 417 to WDW.
At this point I really feel like I am ON vacation. DD is starting to feel the same way, we are enjoying the warmth and drive with the windows down to WDW. We arrive at Boardwalk by 2:30pm. I am staying on DVC points, and booked a standard view studio. I check in and our room is ready so we go check it out. Surprise!! it's a preferred view on the 4th floor with a great view of the pool and Swan and Dolphin in the distance. The only drawback is it's a long walk down the hall from the elevators. I had let valet take the car and had bell services take our bags, so we called down for them and after we had unpacked, we were ready to eat!
I had a connections voucher so we walked to Beaches and Cream and split a double cheeseburger and fries, then finished our meal with the No Way Jose Sundae. This is DD's first one and she loves it! You really have to like peanut butter!
We try to catch the boat to MGM, but it has just left. We stand for a few minutes and decide to walk instead of wait. After all that food we needed a walk!
We walked to MGM before the boat made it. By this time it was almost 5pm, but everything was walk on with no wait at all. We rode TOT, RnR, the Great Movie ride, and Star Wars. We walked around some of the shops and had our photo made with Stitch (my DD's favorite Character) over by the Animators tour.
Is it just me are all the parks really prettiest at dusk? We leave at 7pm and this time ride the boat to The Swan, and walk past Boardwalk (and through a few shops) to Epcot. We arrive at the same time as the boat pulled up. After walking aroung the world showcase, we find a spot for TOD and enjoy it for the last time
I am starting to get cold and DD is wanting to go back to our room before we go to Jellyrolls, so we skip Illuminations and stop by the Boardwalk bakery for goodies to eat in the morning. We stop in to the Screen Door store for milk and head up to our room to put breakfast in the fridge and change clothes.
We get to Jellyrolls at 9:30 and have great time (and several drinks) till we are too tired to party anymore and get to our room at midnight. We are too excited to sleep, but finally drift off by 1 am. I promise DD not to wake her until 8 am
Goodnight moon, hello Wonder
