A couple of weeks ago I read a thread about Motel 6 in Cocoa Beach. One post was very negative about the motel. Having just returned from there, I wanted to say that it was a wonderful place to stay. They were so good to us. We got there very early after getting off the ship. They put our bags behind the counter so we could walk around a little. Then they had our room ready by 9:30. The next day, we had a late flight so our driver wasn't picking us up until 4:00. Again, Motel 6 allowed us to stay in the room until the driver got there so we would be more comfortable. This was all for one nights stay. We will definately stay there again.

Thanks la37 for the report. I posted the thread asking about Motel 6 and almost all the replies were good about the motel. I'm sure every hotel and motel will have some "bad" rooms, just so long as not most of the rooms are "bad". For the price of about $60.00 for a night for 4, you can't go wrong. I'm glad they treated you so well. I think we will be staying there in Jan. before our cruise.

We stayed there the night before our April 23rd cruise. We knew we would be getting in late (actually got there around 1 a.m. and we couldn't see paying a lot for, in essence, a bed and a bath for the three of us. It was a no frills room but it was clean. It fit our bill perfectly and from there we went to breakfast and then to Avis to return the car and catch their shuttle to the terminal. BTW, our car rental was $23.99 for a full size car which got upgraded to an SUV at no cost. Picked up late Friday night and returned to Avis in Cape Canaveral.

Exatcly what we are planning for next year! Good to hear things went smoothly! :goodvibes

Hey I was curious. We want to book a room here for July 7th (the day before our cruise). I went out to their website to check for availability and it said that the earliest I could book a room was 364 days in advance.

Being the curious person I am, I wanted to check some dates around the June/July timeframe just to see how "in demand" the rooms at this motel are and all of my searches for the end of June were coming back with "No rooms available". This has me nervous. :sad2:

For anyone who used this motel, how early did you call to book your reservations? :confused3

Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

Thanks for the report!!! We've got 1 year to the date for our cruise, so it's time to start booking. I'm a little obsessive in planning.

I can't decide if I should go more days at a cheap hotel or go for a more expensive one for a shorter stay, so it's nice to see the positive comments on Motel 6.

Hey there - I just spoke to Deanna at Luna Seas located 3185 North Atlantic Avenue, Cocoa Beach phone number 800-586-2732 and these are the prices to date - 2 double beds with mircrowave and refrig for the month of July is $99.00 plus tax and Sunday through Thursday is $89.00 plus tax - discount for AARP, Triple A holders - Now from what I understand the owner is working on a family discount - she is suppose to call me Monday as to what can be done to be more accommadating for cruisers - their place is beautiful and have a pool etc.
I called Motel 6 for reservations for my 2 sons who will be here tomorrow and they quoted me $79.95 plus tax - now I know Motel 6 has always been inexpensive and not a bad place to stay if only for a day or so - they are close to everything and as like any place, someone will have a bad experience with places we stay at - it has happened to me more than once.
I still hold the Radisson first place for being close to the port, having a shuttle etc and in all honestly if there has ever been a problem, Joe the General Manager has always stepped up to the plate and made things right.
Anyhow hope this info will help anyone interested.
Always
Shirley

We normally stay at the Radisson. They have always taken care of us. The pricing is a little $$$ but we enjoy the hotel alot. I have yet to make a reservation for our September cruise. I hae thought about other places, but I am just not too sure.
