Motel 6

Has anyone ever stayed at the Motel 6 on Disney Way next to the peacock suites? We are going in June for a few nights and would like some reviews and input on that motel or maybe some pics would also be appreciated.

Well I stayed one night and that was enough for me. It was filthy, I woke up to go take a shower and the hot water heater broke. Okay I understand these things happen but they did not tell any of the guests. Did you look at there reviews? I would pay a little bit more for a place that is decent. Hope this helps. Jo

Not yet but we might in early July - I have 7/4 & 7/5 for $50 a night!

I also have a reservation @ Stovall's http://www.stovallsinn.com/ for $73 per night.

I'll keep an eye on the Anaheim Plaza hotel for the $59 or lower rate, and if HoJo's ent. rate comes out we'll be there for sure.

stayed at a Motel 6 once............i fugured they just got the sign wrong..........it should have read Motel 2 1/2...................they "leave the light on for ya" but the bulb is burnt out. i would try somewher else.

thanks everyone, i read the reviews but they were mixed and i never listen to negative reviews because i think i have to see it for myself and usually end up liking where ever it is we are staying at that moment. But my parents have a timeshare for Peacock suites and i have stayed there before so I might convince them to give me some of their points and stay there instead. I have my ressies for Motel 6 already and they have been the cheapest so far but we'll see what happens..

We've stayed at Motel 6 about 3 times (the last time was over a year ago), and it was really clean, and you got a fridge and a microwave; very basic room but close to the parks

I guess it's gone downhill in over a year...I was looking at rates not too long ago, and inquired about the micro/fridge, and they got rid of them in all rooms, but you can pay extra to have them, which is a negative for me...

That's what was really the winner for me...having those amenities so we could have breakfast and lunch in the room, while having dinner in the parks...

Yeah we need a fridge and micro also because we always order chinese food to our room and end up having a lot of leftovers, so we store it away and we get two or three extra meals out of it....They should be included in all the rooms...We were at the Super 8 on Katella near Bubba Gumps last week and they also didn't have a fridge or micro, or iron/ironing board, but they chanrge extra for these things. I hope this is not a trend, a way to suck more money out of us just because we are staying in the disneyland resort area.....

Toby78 - There's a hotel that's pretty cheap (not as cheap as Motel 6) but it includes a microwave and a fridge.

It's the Castle Inn and Suites located on Harbor Blvd and for a weekend stay it's $88 a night. Plus it's closer to the parks than Motel 6....my brother and sil stay here about every other month because it's cheap and close to the parks...so there's an option for next time!

Motel 6 unfortunately does not have a microwave nor fridge. However.... unlike x number of it's counterparts, this particular location not long ago was redesigned and updated. Here are some pictures of it's new rooms and other areas.

When it last got updated (about 3 years ago) they made some of their rooms into Business suites that had hardwood floors AND included microwaves and fridges...it was the same price as the regular rooms(3 years ago) but you had to make a reservation under the Business suite in order to get the micro/fridge...

Then they just got cheaper from there...making the Business rooms more, then COMPLETELY taking out the micro/fridge and charging a fee per appliance...but they had the money to update their rooms AGAIN?!?

I have NO idea what the logistics are behind that but whatev!

I've stayed there many times over the years. Originally it was a Motel 6 and then was remodeled as a Red Roof. Acorn Hotels owns both and Red Roof is generally slightly upscale from a Motel 6. A few years ago they re-branded it back to Motel 6. I found the rooms to be larger and much cleaner than most Motel 6's. Rooms had nice large computer desks. Unlike most Motel 6's, this one has a nice lobby with gift shop and sitting area.

If people are used to deluxe resorts then sure, any Motel 6 will not be acceptable. On a budget Motel 6 or Red Roof's are perfect. I never found the Disney Way one to be even remotely dirty.

Theres also a Motel 6 west of Disneyland on Katella in Stanton (3 miles I think). It is usually cheaper, not as nice but clean. We've also stayed at Red Roof near Knotts off the 91 at Beach. It's usually less expensive and only a 10 minute drive at most to Disneyland. Great for being able to eat breakfast at Knotts restaurant each morning!

Well i think we will keep our ressies then. I'm hoping it will be a decent enough place. I not very picky, just as long as its safe and clean....for $50 a night I'm not expecting a four/five star resort,,,,

I just watched the video on their website. Those rooms look really nice! Love the hardwood floors. Carpet is so filthy.

I wonder if the update that I am thinking about, based upon the PP, is perhaps the one that took place several years ago? I am pretty sure, that the photos shown represent recent changes, but again, perhaps it goes back a few years already? IDK... the rooms do look reasonably nice.

No you're right they have been changed yet AGAIN! The time I went though, they said they had just updated all there rooms and that was three years ago..I was checkin out the photos on their website not too long ago (just found out I can go to DL this weekend! yay!) and sure enough, they've updated again!

I guess it's a good thing, seeing as they are really trying to make their customers satisfied, but dangit don't take away my fridge! Where am i supposed to store my beer now!!!
