Most surprising movie twist

No way Out. That one really got me. I didn't know anyone that had that one figured out and it was a well kept secret.

ohh, haven't seen that one. I'm adding it to my list right now!

You guys have named some good ones. Sixth Sense would have been on my list except that I got a huge clue from an awards show I watched before seeing the movie. I had avoided everything Sixth Sense since I had heard it had a great ending. Whenever anyone brought it up, I would leave the room. Well, one night (if you haven't seen it & intend to, please don't read any further) I was watching the People's Choice Awards & was about to turn off the TV when they were about to give out "favorite actor". I decided to see who won, & when the guy opened the envelope, he said "a very much alive Bruce Willis" !!!! I was so mad I screamed at the dumb guy on the TV. DH was asleep, so I didn't tell him, but it was so dissappointing to watch that movie & basically know what the twist was.

The Sixth Sense gets my vote. I think I walked around the house saying I can't believe it for about a week. :teeth:

Another one that comes to mind is the movie The Swimmer with Burt Lancaster. The end of that gave me goose bumps.

And going way back when Psycho was a first run flick, that one had everybody blown away.

I agree with The Usual Suspects - I love that movie.

I also thought Oceans 11 was clever in that you thought you knew exactly how they were going to rob the casino, but only found out the real truth at the end.

All of these had me

Shawshank Redemption
The Sixth Sense
and of course, The Life of David Gale

"The Sting" of course. Newman and Redford are classic.

David

Loved Usual Suspects, really good.

The Sixth Sense got me but I couldn't believe that I didn't catch it before the end. Once you know the ending and look back on the story there are so many clues.

How about Signs and Unbreakable? All of those M. Night Shyamalan are so good.

Okay, am I getting greedy listing 3 in a row??

How about Fight Club??

I really liked Fight Club. Also Sixth Sense, Signs, Primal Fear & A Beautiful Mind.

I figured out the ending of Sixth Sense about halfway through the movie. I can't believe that no one else did. I thought it was obvious.

I totally agree with Seven and The Sixth Sense.

But I was really blown away by a movie galled "The Game" I believe. It was with Michael Douglas and Sean Penn. They play rich playboy type brothers. And for Michael's birthday Sean sends him to this outfit that will create a "real-life game" to take part in. It's really hard to expalin but the movie had lots of twists.

I knew in the first 10 minutes and hated the movie because I was disappointed that it was so obvious. Same thing with The Others with Nicole Kidman.

No new ones, but totally agree with
Usual Suspects
The others
The sixth sense
Primal fear
did not have a clue about any of them
Tara

Well, I guess I'm a little slow....I didn't figure out THE SIXTH SENSE until she dropped his wedding ring, and it rolled across the floor. I think I enjoyed the movie a whole lot more NOT figuring it out in the first 10 minutes. ;) Couldn't wait to go back and watch it again and look for all the clues!

Definitely "The Sixth Sense." I get goosebumps just thinking about it!

Another movie with a great twist is called "Shattered" with Tom Berenger. If you haven't seen that one, you should rent it!
