Am trying to finalise our eating plans for 2 weeks for 2 adults of just over 50yrs, no children
We love all things Disney, but also like a quiet meal and fine dining food
We plan to find 4 special evening dinners, where we can dress up a little..........and enjoy each others company and a lovely meal
Not on DDP, and we will have a car
Where do people recommend to eat onsite or offsite, that is a special experience and why?
Thanks!
Lyn

The best and also most romantic meal that I've ever had - in my life (not to mention on Disney property) is Victoria & Albert's.

Jiko is also a nice experience. The atmosphere isn't as romantic as V&A, but the food is great and the atmosphere is very nice.

Another vote for Victoria and Alberts, excellent food and a great excuse to dress up.

I have never done V & A (it doesn't appeal to me), but I find Jiko to be a nice adult experience. The last time we were there I didn't see any children, although they are welcome.
It is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food and warm friendly service.
Many will recommend the Yachtsman's Steakhouse. Although it is a beutiful setting, with stellar service we just didn't like the food. We have tried twice and we won't go back.
Have a Great Trip

Yet again, another vote for V&A. The perfect most special dining experience. You will not find any children under 10 here as they are not allowed and having been 3 times, I have never seen a child younger than 18. No kids menu and very romantic!!! Beautiful, stunning service, perfect food and EXCELLENT wine...do the pairings if you go.

Victoria and Alberts
Flying Fish
Artist Point
Le Bistro in EPCOT

Off property...Normans at Ritz Carlton

Really the only choice is Victoria and Albert's. It is quiet. Therer is live music with a harpist. Children under age 10 are not permitted. There is an enforced dress code which requires jackets for the men. It is very common to see men there in suits or even tuxedos; with the women dressed accordingly. And it is one of only 54 restaurants in the United States with a Five Diamond rating from AAA.

We celebrated our 25th Anniversary at Artist Point. It was quiet and unrushed, the location of our table was excellent (I think they must use that table for special occassions), we got a personalized menu to save, and both service and food were excellent, We'd highly recommend it.

Consider California Grill, while kids are allowed, if you dine later in the evening there's less of a chance of running into kiddos. We had a wonderful dining experience there.

My husband and I are in same age range as OP. The only true romantic adult experience is V&A. We also enjoy Bistro de Paris and bluezoo, also not on the dining plan, so more tendency to be adult diners who enjoy a quiet slow-paced meal.

All of Disney's signatures are a hit and a miss with what experience you will encounter with fellow diners, even with a late dining time (we always eat no earlier than 9pm). Overall, we've had more adult experiences at Jiko and Citricos (not every time but I'm talking an average). However, my husband and I both think the food at Flying Fish is the best but it's frequently pretty noisy there. The worst, atmosphere/noise wise are Ca Grill and Narcoosees.

1) Stay away from eateries where DDP is accepted.
2) You have BIG chances of noisy kids and even unruly adults.
3) In order of our preferences
. . . Victoria & Albert's (Grand Floridian)
. . . Shula's (Dolphin)
. . . Bistro de Paris (Epcot, France, upstairs)

My votes for quiet and romantic are V&A, Bistro de Paris, Jiko, Narcoosees. Citricos, CaliGrill, FF are okay, but tend to be bright, noisy. FWIW.

Can't say enough good things about Narcoossee's. We go there every year and find that without fail, it is not only the best, but the most intimiate dinner we have in WDW.

Note: We have never done V&A's as it does not appeal to us.

"Quiet meal" is the tough part of the equation. Other than V&A and possibly Bistro, you may find unruly kids or loud expense account adults at any of the Signature restaurants. Then again, you could get lucky and find a quiet meal at any of those restaurants.
My list would be V&A, Bistro, Citricos and Il Mulino. Il MUlino mostly because the expense account convention crowd seem to gravitate toward Shula's and Blue Zoo at the Swan/Dolphin. One of our noisiest meals ever was at Blue Zoo when they had several conventions/meetings at the Swan/Dolphin. Place was mobbed with groups of 10-12 at a table, all screaming for more water, more bread, more wine etc etc. Our server was nearly in tears..

Thanks for all your help
Will let you know how i get on
Have found some excellent ideas offsite as well...

And we have Palo's to look forward to also!
