Most Popular Names When You Were In School...

1982 we had a lot of Tammy, Lisa, Amy, Sharon, Cathy, Mike, Scott, and Ricky. That's all I can come up with for now.

In my class of 1989 and those classes around the same age, there seemed to be a lot of:

Girls: Angela/Angie, Amy, Jennifer, Kristi, Holly, Lisa, Michelle, Stephanie

Boys: Michael, Jay, Jason, John, Chad, Chris, Corey, Jeff

The main one who really stands out is Jennifer. There were 5 Jennifers in my kindergarten class. When we went to first grade, we added a Jenny to the mix as well.

ETA: Oh, and I graduated HS in 1991.

Me too(class of 91) this is why I said Jennifer because there was always 3,4or 5 in my classes! They always had to go by their last initial also.It makes sense because it was the #1 baby name in 1973

Girls: Sarah, Emily, Jen/Jenny, Allison, Lauren, Kate/Kat/Katherine
Guys: Michael, Daniel, Brad (surprising!), Chris/Christopher, Matt/Matthew

Graduated HS is 2007

All Girls school, Class of 93, 114 graduating girls, 8 were Michelle, many were Tara and Jennifer as well.

i graduated HS in 1989. amy and dana were the most common names in my graduating class.

I graduated HS in 1999. Girls were Jessica, Amber, Ashley, Brooke, Candace, and Jennifer. Boys were Jason, Scott, Justin, Josh, Derek, and Adam. Jessica and Jason were by far the most popular though. In my group of friends alone 4 of my guy friends were Jason, lol!

all girls' Catholic high school, lots of Marys, lol

as for other kids in the community, popular names were Donna, Diane, Lori, Laura, Lisa, Karen and I really wasn't allowed to socialize with boys but Anthony and John were popular names

Class of '81, 230 students

Girls: Debbie, Kathy, Diane, Kim
Boys: Mike (I can think of 10 in my class without even getting the yearbook out!)

I graduated in 1992 w/ a class of 326.

For girls we had a lot of Jennifer, Heather, Amy, quite a few Tracey/Tracie's, and Sheri/Sherry's. I am Kim(Kimberly) and there were 8 of us.

For Boy's it seemed everyone was named Chris/Christopher, Brian/Bryan, or Dave/David at our school. Quite a few Sean's too.

I think it's funny that Amy is so popular at different times. I graduated in 1981 and there were only two Amys in my class. I've only met a few others over the years--one of whom is a friend of dd's. That's a bit confusing. It takes me a minute to realize that dd isn't suddenly calling me Amy instead of Mom.

We had a lot of Debbies, Tammys, Brendas, Beckys, Lauries, Kims and Sherrys. For boys, we had a lot of Mikes, Daves, and Todds.

DD graduated last year and at her graduation ceremony, I realized that there were a ton of Megans in her class.

Are we talking high school graduation?

Debbie, Karen, Cathy/Kathy, Lisa and Donna were very popular names in the class of 1980.

What she said---class of 1984. (btw my name is Karen and there were three others in my kindergarten class. Just try and find a 5 year old Karen now:rotfl:)
