Most Overrated Food in Disney

Dole Whips and O'Hana.
I like pineapple, but in small quantities at a time so they are just too much pineapple for me. I like the Citrus Swirl better.
I don't know exactly what I don't like about O'Hana, but the last couple of times we've gone, I've left saying that just wasn't worth 200 bucks! Now I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the bread pudding - I make that at home when we need a disney fix!

I have 2 that I think may have been a result of having really high expectations. They are:

1) zebra domes - I had heard so much about them & tried them twice & thought they were kind of bland

2) carmel corn at Karmel Kuche - it tasted stale to me & I know they make it fresh. I'm going to give this one another try next time. I'm thinking (& hoping) it was just a fluke.

I love Dole whips but I didn't realize I wasn't using the flavors that everyone went wild over to make mine until afterwards LOL I like the orange and pineapple swirl as a float with pineapple juice. Very fruity and refreshing on a hot day. The vanilla/pineapple swirls doesn't appeal to me at all

I guess I just like regular old Domino pizza better lol  I think I'm the only one who doesn't like Via Napoli though:confused3

I wasn't really impressed with Via Napoli either. I had the melon and proscuitto pizza and it was just sort of meh. And my friend had a pasta dish and was very unimpressed. No plans to return, but that just means I get to go to one of the places I do love!

the meats at Ohana, Grand Marnier Slush-I love the Grey goose one I love all things orange so this was a surprise for me, Most Cupcakes at WDW too much frosting  I am weird like that, And the biggest one for me was the Sticky Mickey at the old Restaurant at The Contemporay can't think of the name

I will eat your frosting and you can have the cake part of my cupcakes!:D

Dole Whip Float--it was ok the first two bites then became overly sweet, wouldn't go out of my way to get another one
Casey's Corn Dog Nuggets-yuk!!!
Turkey Leg-Just the smell now makes me queasy

I also didn't care for the Butterfinger cupcake. I wasn't expe it to be white icing under the chocolate shell.

Also, Tonga Toast. I thought it was too dry, even when I drenched it in syrup.

Dole Whips and O'Hana.
Same here. The food at O'Hana when I went last fall just wasn't good. Everything tasted like teriyaki. Well, except for the dessert. And it was tasty but just not as good as Raglan Road's at DD. I also didn't think the butterfinger cupcake at HS was that great either. However, I did really like the cupcakes at Cheshire Cafe in the MK. Think I had the white rabbit one? Tasty and fresh.

Fun thread indeed!

Dole Whips
Tonga Toast - had to order it last time we were there just because of the raves I read on here and I wasn't overly impressed like I thought I would be. (As a matter of fact I never have to order that again)

Turkey legs - they smell heavenly but I remember from being on a trip with my whole family as a teen and everyone got their own, including the kids except me. Every last one of my family members got sick too, except me.

Mickey Head Rice Crispy Treats - don't care how many toppings you cover it in it just is a giant rice crispy treat. As a matter of fact the more you pile on the thing the more of a bother it becomes to eat. Wasn't nasty, just a huge waste of a snack credit/money to me.

These are the food items I've personally tried which to me are overrated and not worth the time, effort or price:
Dole Whip
Churros
Any baked good from a park or resort "bakery"
Cape May Cafe seafood items especially crab legs
Le Cellier steaks
Mickey bars and indeed all park and resort ice cream
Flame Tree barbecue barbecued items
Be Our Guest grey stuff
Casey's Corner hot dogs
50s Prime Time Cafe fried chicken

These are off to top of my head. I'll add more after I do more thinking.

So what exactly do you snack on at WDW

I have to say that every single thing I have tried that was super-hyped here on the dis was over-rated. Not that I didn't enjoy some of them, but it was impossible to live up to expectations.

But if I had to choose, it would be zebra domes. Blech, that gelatinous texture is not good to me and I am happy to leave them to those who enjoy them. :)

Cream cheese pretzel in Tomorrowland. To be fair, only had it once, so possibly a bad batch.

I may be alone on this... BOG lunch? Not impressed. I got the carved turkey sandwich I'd seen everyone posting about. I mean, it was fine. It was real, carved turkey. But that's about it. Now I absolutely loved our dinner there!

On the subject of the grey stuff... I did enjoy it, but what does everyone think it is? DH and I thought it was just vanilla mousse dyed grey...

Oh, I might eat any of them now and again, I just think they're overrated and I don't seek them out. But if we find ourselves next to a churro cart, for example, and if someone asks "how about a churro? " and I'm hungry I wouldn't turn one down. Does that make sense? What I really enjoy snacking on is another thread...

I get it. I definitely will go out of my way to get a Mickey bar or a root beer float! And a chicken ceasar salad . But there's not much I will go out of my way for.
