Most outrageous thing that happened during school days?

one of the female students played hooky from school the day of her 18th birthday.........she had run off with one of the 'former' teachers ('former' as in he had slipped his resignation under the door of the district offices after they closed the night before) and they got married in an adjacent state. she returned to school the next day to finish out her senior year.

interesting to note-they will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary next year.

We had a similar "scandal" to the above ^^.

The President of the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes...a huge religious club in the South) married the faculty advisory (a teacher). They were supposedly having an affair all through her senior year and they got married after graduation. He left that school but was still teaching at another. It's now about 17 years later. They've since divorced.

I went to school in the early/mid 90s. We had tons of "bomb scares," where we would all have to file out and stand on the athletic fields for a while. I guess students would call them in from pay phones when they didn't want to go to class.

Some really crazy stories.

Mine all revolve around this one guy in my group of friends. He was completely wacky (he wasn't mean, but definitely had too much energy). We had a math teacher who was also loopy and he loved to egg her on. One day she took off her shoe and threw it across the room at him!

The worst was when the boys went through a stage of peeing in the closet at the back of the classroom (they used empty water bottles). Some of the kids had a bad habit of just taking a drink out of whoever's water bottle as they walked past. Well, this boy decides to strategically place a water bottle full of pee on someone's desk. A kid comes walking past and grabs to bottle to take a sip as the class watched - completely aghast in horror. At the last second, someone shrieks, and he jerks the bottle splashing it over himself and the floor. At that point, I departed the classroom (I did hear the crazy boy was caught by a teacher and made to clean up the mess. Disgusting!).

I was so grossed out by his antics that I always kept my distance from this kid. Annoyingly enough, he was close to my best friends so he was always around. Hard to believe he is a responsible family man now.

Woo, do I have a few! At my Elementary school between 6th and 8th grade, small Catholic school (about 30 kids per grade), and each grade moved classrooms all together:
  • Kid is being forcefully sent to the office and as we were all lined up in the hall he shoves the teacher so hard he flew across the hall, hit the wall, and slid down like a cartoon character. The kid was not expelled.
  • A different kid punched that same teacher. He was not expelled.
  • Another kid, not really a trouble-maker per se, but one of those really smart kids (probably even gifted) but with authority issues and a lousy work ethic, was late by about a minute submitting his homework (he was probably doing it right then). He went back to his desk and said to someone "I'm so sick of that -----." Of course the whole class goes "Oooooohhh!" The teacher immediately sends him out ans as he leaves he has a chance...the teacher asks "Were you talking to me?" The whole class is giving him the "no, no no" gestures, and he says "No." WE all sigh relief. "But I was talking ABOUT you," the kid says. The whole class face palms. He was never seen in that school again
One last one. In high school we also had a math teacher who was a bit on the odd side. She would write on the old overhead projectors (the kind with the glass for transparencies; Kids, ask your parents.), and would erase it with her hands and get blue ink all over her by the end of the day. Anyway, I did not witness it, but she had a full-on breakdown in the classroom...throwing erasers, tipping desks over, talking to aliens, or ghosts, or whatever. I felt bad for because she was really nice, but she needed some professional care for sure.

Those were the most entertaining ones I could think of, and that doesn't include the locker fire.

11th grade - Girlfriend and boyfriend have argument in my home room, girl shoots boy in head killing him after school at his home

12th grade - 50 something principal and smoking hot girls gym teacher having relations in men's locker room and a class comes into locker room to change (sight I'll never get out of my mind). You think the principal and gym teacher would know the schedule.

Did they both keep their jobs at that school?

In grade 2 a girl jumped up on her desk when the teacher left the room, pulled up her dress, and showed all the boys her appendix scar. I was shocked and embarrassed.

outrageous in terms of punishment or the act?

I got a 2 week detention for playing with grass during recess. The teacher that gave it to me is the only teacher that gave me a N(The E-S-N-U system) and disqualified me for the good student award. I had all E except for that one class with that one teacher.

Streakers through the courtyard. I went to an all girls high school and a guy from the boys school down the street streaked through the courtyard, then the gym teacher/girls basketball coach chased him.

Sophomore getting caught with vodka in her locker.

When I was in middle school, there was a teacher who no one respected. He was just...not in the right profession. You need to have some ability to exert authority if you're going to control kids, and he had nothing. It was sort of a challenge, from year to year, as to what class could torture him more. One class locked him inside his own closet and then left him there crying. One class made him think a kid had fallen out the window and he went running for help. One class switched one of his educational videos with a porno, and turned the TV volume all the way up.

Sometimes, I wonder what happened to him.

He killed himself. You happy now?

Nothing crazy that I remember for me but there was the year where three of my kids teachers were arrested. The kids learned how to lookup arrest records on the internet.

One for child abuse, his own children, he was in the middle of an extremely messy divorce and he had just had her arrested so she returned the favor. The divorce was so messy I really don't know if there was any merit to her claim against him. He remained the teacher through the end of the year.

One for firing a gun and sending a bullet into the connected town house. It was a domestic dispute and she retrieved her boy friends gun from his car and was threatening to kill herself. She remained the teacher through the end of the year.

One for having an affair with a student. She was the only one let go in the middle of the year.

I didn't specifically see this happen, but when I was in high school, I heard about some kid who was playing with a firecracker IN CLASS and accidentally lit it and blew off a finger.

I can tell you I witnessed somebody light a large pile of leaves on fire that was sitting on the curb waiting to be picked up by the city.

this was at a school I worked at Catholic Co-Ed high school. Pretty nice size campus too, Wrought iron fence around the entire campus with 5 gates. For senior prank, the senior had early dismissal the day of graduation practice, theyhad gone to the hardware store, bought 5 chains and 5 locks and put them on all the gates. When it was time for the rest of the school to go home, it was probably the funniest thing I ever saw.....the chaos in the parking lot was hilarious. Hat tip to that class of 2010.

Boy came into the dining room, went up to the headteacher's table and urinated on it. kid you not.
