So what is everyone's favorite adventure?

Mine was probably a hiking trip along the Gulf of Mexico, around a good portion of Fla's coast. Disney trips still reign supreme in my book, but that one definitely stands out.

Let's hear some fun stories. :)

Mine was just last month! I went to Hawaii with my best friend. Now we really didn't DO anything (just sunbathe and shop and eat!) but it was so special to ME.

I met my best friend 26 years ago. She was my first roommate in the Air Force (Panama City, FL). It was so freaky how we hit it off immediately (we both think it was the hand of God). Anyway, though we talk on the phone ALOT, it had been 11 years since we last SAW each other!

We planned this trip for 7 months! My daughter was NOT going and her sons and husband were NOT going!!! It was just us.

We reminisced..........oh goodness!!!!.......things that our kids would DIE if they knew about:laughing: and we stayed up past "our bedtime" and we spent money on ourselves, drank a little (we no longer can do that because of tummy troubles....but we did a little!), and pampered ourselves and finished each other's thoughts and sentences! AND we were in beautiful Hawaii!!!!!

This was the first time I have gone on a trip without my daughter (she is 19 but I have been a single mom for almost 18 years). We are very close. But this was MY trip! Sherri and I were on the same page. Not much sightseeing. Lazy days on the beach just talking and talking and talking.

Its really hard to put into words. We live so far apart (me in New Mexico, her in Oregon) but we are so alike. It cracked us up (our planes arrived within 20 minutes of each other) when we called to find out which luggage carosel (we had the same!) and what we were wearing so we could find each other in the crowd. Both of us were wearing white shirts, dark denims, and black heels! Then we both had tied a yellow ribbon on the handle of our black suitcases!

Okay........I am finished! This was so special because it was so emotional:hug:

Next trip.......January......Paris with my daughter!

Mine would have to be my solo trip to Europe this past year. I never thought I'd get the courage up to go to Europe, never mind solo, but I had a really bad year last year, and was just going thru a breakup. I was moving from Saskatchewan to Ontario (over 3000 km of driving!), and didn't have a job lined up right away, so I decided to do something for myself, and booked a tour thru Europe (England, Brussels, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France and Monaco), and decided to use some of my DVC points to end it off with a 5 night stay at DLP.

I tell you, the trip was worth every penny! I met so many wonderful people during that trip, my tour group was amazing, and I've made life long friends with people all over the world. It proved to me that I could do anything I put my mind to and wanted to achieve.

Linda, you and your daughter will have an amazing time in Paris! I absolutely fell in love with the city and would go back in a heartbeat! If you have the opportunity, check out a dinner/show at the Moulin Rouge. The production was breathtaking! I know you have to book well in advance though, as tickets are hard to get.

Its a toss-up between France and Greece. France was wonderful, so much to explore. So many great museums, so much history to see. Wonderful food. In Greece I stayed on Mikonos and it was absolutely gorgeous. People were wonderful, they would invite you to there homes for feasts. Went to a couple archaological dig sites which were very interesting. Just a great time.

Both of these were completely solo trips. I have taken many others but these two stand out. I can't wait to get back to France. Its number one on my list of things to do outside of Disney.

i would have to say when i got into the hot seat who wants to be millionaire in 2005 on my last day at wdw.

Mine would have to be staying at the Poly with my father (now deceased). Disney World was our annual getaway and I treasure each of those trips, but this one was very special. Not only did we go deluxe (it was his favorite and he didn't know we were staying there until we drove up), it was also the first day of soft opening at Animal Kingdom. We were literally on the FIRST BUS on the FIRST DAY, how cool is that. I remember us walking around, not really knowing where everything was. Most rides were a little different, as the scripts were still being written and some of the pre-shows weren't just right yet. I also remember things like the Discovery River boats that aren't even there now. It was a wonderful experience that I'll remember forever. It was 1998 and he passed away in June of 1999....we did get to go back in the spring of 1999, so I had one last experience with him.

Since his passing, I've went at least once each year, sometimes more...and I'll always strive to keep going. There are certain "traditions" that I always like to keep. Most of all, I can be standing on a corner of main street and "feel him" standing next to me...and its a feeling I just can't describe.

I spent a week in a "hunting lodge" in Southern Alaska. The entire week was devoted to fishing and animal hunting (with a camera), and it was awesome. Just outside my cabin were fresh blueberries on the bush. The trees were magnificent and were draped with moss. The sun took a long time to set (because of the latitude) and was just freakin' gorgeous. I saw all kinds of wildlife, from elk to puffins to whales. I saw a stream choked with salmon. A once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Greece! Oh my gosh - you've got to go there! Beautiful - the history, the water, the islands to hit, the food. I won't go into detail, but trust me on this - if at all possible - go to Greece!

Ask me on 30th December I am going to Moscow for 2 nights to see the Bolshoi ballet perform the Nutcracker (never done anything like this before)
