I love reading these! I'm heading to Disneyland next month with my kids... help me get in the mood by sharing your most magical Disney memory!

Main Street Electrical Light Parade when I was 4. It's my first vivid memory of Disneyland. Can't beat the magic of seeing all those flashing lights. The music (which I have made into my ringtone) still gives me goosebumps. Cannot wait for the new parade to start this summer!

My other favorite was the 40th anniversary show at the Tomorrowland Terrace. Can't tell you why I loved it so much, but it was the first year we ever got annual passes when I was a kid. I watched it so many times that year that I can still recite some of the theme song 20 years later. "40 years of adventure. 40 years of fun. 40 years of excitement, the adventure has just begun...at Disneyland!" Something like that. Yeah.

Main Street Electrical Parade as a kid and adult has been pretty magical.

But, taking my oldest daughter when she was 2.5 and watching her eyes light up when she saw the sights and met her favorite characters can't be beat. I will never forget that trip!

Taking my kids on the same rides I loved as a kid is pretty cool too!

This wasn’t at Disneyland but it does have a Disney-like theme.

My DGD was three years old at the time, she’s 17 now. By the age of three, she knew all the Disney princess stories, either from movies or story books.

Here’s my Disney-like memory.

There’s a house on the way between our two homes that looks like a Castle. It’s in the country on about 30 acres of rolling green grass and beautifully landscaped. My brother and mom had picked her up and were driving back. As they were driving back when they drove past the castle house, my DGD points and says “That’s where the princess’s live”. My mom only heard princess and asked her which one? DGD replied in a matter of fact voice, “Well ALL of them!” as she is held up her hands in excitement. That made my mom’s day.

DGD was finally able to meet the princess's on her 6th birthday. It took me a few years to convince my son the grandkids were old enough for a trip to Disneyland. My husband and I took our son, DIL, DGS and DGD for their first family trip to DLR in 2004. It was the best way to spend her 6th birthday.

I took my first trip last October and I was solo. I am pretty good at doing things on my own, but even for me it got lonely at times. I was walking into Disneyland one morning before rope drop, and came across the cutest little girl, who was maybe four or five. She had blonde hair in crazy ringlets, and she was clearly hiding from her dad - who was pretending not to know where she was - behind a trash can.

I looked at her seriously and said: "You are so totally hidden, no one will EVER find you."

Her excited response?

"RIGHT?!"

And that was my favorite bit of "Disney magic." ;)

My 5 year old son having Goofy's bounce house to himself. It was convention night and we were in the far reaches of Toontown. It was an activity to never be captured again for as he aged the magic of bouncing disappeared. But for one Disney moment he bounced for 30 mins without any rules of conduct, for the house was empty.

One sunset the imagineers painted a sunset of magical colors above the castle. I was leveraging the Dumbo lever up high, trying to avoid vertigo that happens when you are a senior citizen on inappropriate attractions with tight circle routes. When what did I see sailing into the setting sun, Cpt Hook's ship sailing into the clouds of pink, red and orange. And I asked myself, who else is viewing the Peter Pan weather vane floating in the grand sunset. It was magic found unexpectedly.

My first trip to Disneyland with my sister when we were in our early 20's, my first trip to Disney Paris when I was in my 30's and my first trip to WDW in my 40's.
but the most magical was when I took my then 6yr old son , and we were waiting on the curb where the characters come out to see Donald... my son was flagging as it had been a long day...
Donald came out , and I couldnt help myself.. I was yelling at my son to go over and give Donald a high 5 as Donald came out... lol crazy woman..! my son jumped up and ran over , gave the high 5 and was going to walk behind him to start the line for photos.. or so I thought... Donald had other ideas.... he took my sons hand and walked WITH him to the center of the square and made such a fuss of him... the best photo I have is my sons toothless grin looking up at me while he walks hand in hand with the Big D.!! We still talk about that.. and he is now 10 ..! lol
