Most Kid Friendly Airlines?

Our family of 6 LOVE Jet Blue, second comes United, LAST comes Southwest.

JetBlue Pros: TV Screen for each person, Direct TV-Free, XM Radio, Yummy full size snacks and drinks, very helpful FA's, on time departures/arrivals(actually arrived in FL/VA early), clean planes, lavatories, bigger comfortable leather seats, roomier, cheap flights, offers non stop from our departure city to Orlando, you can pick your seats when you book your flight(you can see where the seats are on the plane)

United Pros: decent planes, ok snacks, some planes with tvs, FA's not bad but not great, arrival/departures-no compliants, preselected seats.

Southwest Pros: Activity packet with multi-color pencil, wings pin, activity booklet
Southwest Cons:bad mean ticket agents, hate the boarding process with young children, FA ok but too busy getting drink orders, snack/drink service is slow because they don't push the cart around they take orders

Good luck with your search.

...Has anyone had any GOOD experiences with flying with little ones? Any airlines going above and beyond to make sure your flight was a pleasant one? We fly about 2 - 3 times a year and I am tired of giving my hard earned money to airlines who clearly do not want it.

Southwest was great - gave DS the little wings on his first flight, crew always greats the kids as well as the adults, plus kids like it when everybody claps for the crew at landing.

Another vote for SW here. It's the only airline I've used when flying with DD so I can't truly say the other airlines are bad with kids. But considering I've had bad experiences by myself on American, Delta, United, and Northwest, I can't imagine flying solo with a child on those airlines would improve my opinion of them.

The SW FAs were always extremely helpful. They assisted me in carrying on DD's carseat and getting it installed. They never made me feel like I was taking too much time to deplane and I always wait until the end so I'm not trying to juggle DD, a carseat, and a carryon in the crush to get off the plane.

I haven't flown with DD since Southwest changed their boarding procedures. Before, I've always been able to pre-board which was a god-send. When we fly in September, it will be the first time that won't be allowed. They will allow us to board after group A and before group B if we don't get A boarding passes so at least we shouldn't have trouble getting seats together. But it's a disappointment that they changed that policy, but DD is turning 5 on the September trip so our days with preboarding were getting close to over anyway.

I know this won't do anyone any good LOL but I flew by myself with the 4 kids to Kansas City last year from Columbus on Skybus and it was wonderful, the FA's were lovely and they were family friendly IMO. They are no more though :(

I'm happy to hear AirTran is good, since that is what we are flying on to WDW in jan.

I agree that you shouldnt have trouble getting seats together.....the first like 10 or so passengers are priority or full fare customers adn on my last flight in march, there was only 1 person....i was also with a family of 6 and we were ll able to get seats together with boarding after group A

personally, i like the new boarding system for a few reasons....first, i like not having to sit in line for an hour before we board adn dealing wiht so many rude ppl in line who think that they should get on before you even when they come after you, second- i actualy prefer to preboard after group A b/c i htink its still enough time to get settled but its not so early that the kids want to get up and run around before we even take off

also....on one flight i was on in december, there was a family with 4 kids and they were not able to get seats together but the FAs asked passengers to switch seats so that the family could be together and the passengers were happy to help...but with 2 of you, i dont think getting seats will be a problem
