Most horrible physical pains you have experienced?

Broken tail bone
It hurts sitting, standing, laying in any position and takes 6 weeks to heal. I was breast feeding so no pain pills.

Shingles, Horrendously Awful case, followed by chemo. Yes, Shingles was Worse ( like being burned alive… ) I had a very bad case, unfortunately more than once.
GET the shingles vaccine!

I have Shingles now, I have to say it tops the list because the pain just don't go away.
Rash is almost gone but the pain is still there across my back and side.
On a short term pain, worst pain ever is when I pulled my elbow right out of its socket.
Looking at X-Ray the elbow and socket are next to each other. took 3 doctors about 25 minutes
pulling on my arm to pop it back in.

Defiantly agree with a1tinkfans
GET the shingles vaccine!

I would say a bruised tail bone when I fell at the house. Hurt like hell for several weeks.

Sciatica - I couldn't believe how painful that was. Ended up going to ER. No pain meds worked though they kept upping the dose. My wife thought I was going to go into a respiratory arrest.

I'm with the ear infection. I've given birth 3 times, broken multiple bones and have experienced a few other of the 'pain' events listed here, but the ear infection made me cry and cry while I sat in the urgent care waiting for the doctor. Makes me think of little kids and babies who can't tell you what's wrong when they have ear infections.

Rotator cuff surgery. It was 5 weeks ago and I still couldn't sleep well last night.

Eating a Filet steak.

It was painful because it was very expensive and we treated ourselves when we first got married. Had it in the freezer, took it out to thaw, woke up the next morning to it still out. I felt it and thought we'd be OK. Next 3 days told me different.

Labor was horrendous until I received the epidural. Due to the epidural, childbirth was tolerable. However, he cracked my tailbone on the way out, so recovery was quite painful.

However, breaking as well as dislocating my shoulder was up there, too. When they tried putting the ball back into to the socket, tried a number of times, and X-ray showed the cup was broken and pieces were inside the cup.

With those being said, I have to say that when I needed hip replacement, it was the worst pain ever. I didn’t get it done soon enough and wound up with a collapsed hip. Basically, nothing left fo the hip. the doctor got me in as soon as he could but it was a 3 week wait. I could not get comfortable at all, no position alleviated the pain. It was 24/7 of severe pain with no relief. Pain meds did not touch it. I came out of surgery pain free, that was awesome.

Spiral meningitis. In my hospital room, the nurses drew all the curtains and turned out all of the lights. It was still too bright in my room. The headache was so bad, I literally prayed to die.

It's either recovering from hemorrhoid surgery or kidney stones.
That hemorrhoid surgery was awful. I’d have another c section before I’d do that. That seriously was the worst thing I’ve ever done. And the dr messed it up so I still have the same problem I had before the surgery

best I can come up with to describe the pain is having a rectal exam by Edward scissor hands. Except he took his blades and heated them up to molten lava first

Pancreatitis had me in the hospital for 3 days, given morphine injections because the IV drip did nothing.
Induced child birth, asked for the epidural but it didn't work, twice.
I get migraines often, some are worse than others, but never compare to those two things. Had a few gallbladder attacks before the pancreatitis (that was caused by a gallstone getting "stuck") but don't get those any more since it was taken out.

Gallbladder attack. Hellacious. Happy day when I got that evil organ yanked this year.

Kidney stones. I get one of significance about once a year. A few years back it was a modest 7mm chunker and the nurse at the ER was telling me how she’s normally an obstetrics nurse and whenever she’s asked patients who’ve both had kidney stones and delivered a baby without epidural, they’ve always said the stones were the worst.

to which I responded, “why are you telling me this?”

prompting her to clarify that I was in the elite group of men who could discuss pain amongst the company of mothers.

well she thought it was hilarious and I … I was being given narcotics so I chuckled along.
