Was just there last week and my teens (16 and 14) LOVED Hoop-Dee-Doo. The place is a riot and they laughed their heads off. While we didn't dine at Whispering Canyon we did check it out when visiting Wilderness Lodge, and there was nothing going on there at all. All the tables were filled but the place was quiet. The fun obviously must happen in spurts. At HDD it's continuous fun. Keep in mind though, that HDD costs twice as much as Whispering Canyon, or 2 TS credits apiece. One thing, we made our reservation for HDD a month before our trip so I was expecting to be seated in the balcony. Instead we were given a table right in the middle of the downstairs floor and even got the spotlight shown on us when asked where we were from. HDD is a blast; you'll love it.
